This production is gonna be about a 5 hr one day shoot. We want to get at least 10-15 extras on top of our leads. We won’t be shooting any sound, so performances will be entirely physical. The song we’ll be shooting with is “Windowlicker” by Aphex Twin.

Some of the bts in yesterday’s shoot. We had a jib set up on top of a doorway dolly. As for lighting we had a kino flo diva for the doorway, a nanlite 120-B for the overhead, and two practical lights.

We shot on an Fx6 Sony cam with a 50mm Rokinon lens; an iso of 800 on a T-stop of 4.

During a complicated shot like this, many people have to work perfectly in sync. One wrong push of the dolly or slip of the finger on focus can ruin a shot entirely. Filmmakers live for the moments where everything goes right, and you get that perfect shot.

But if you aren't completely focused in every moment, a perfect shot can easily be ruined. The camera movements were smooth and perfect. The focus was sharp throughout the shot. The action timings were spot on, but because an SDI cable was caught in the camera jib, the shot was completely ruined at the last second.

Although our best take was very good, there are still a few small flaws. The entrance isn't as smooth, the movement of the camera isn't as smooth as I'd want it to be, and the overall rhythm just isn't what I exactly wanted.
