It is my (much younger) husband’s birthday! I have had the pleasure of celebrating over half of his years on this planet. If you know Marko, you know that there is nothing he can’t do. He is annoyingly talented, so stinking smart, and endlessly curious. I knew there was no stopping him when I met him when he was 20 years old. What I didn’t anticipate was the sheer amount of animal parts this outdoorsman produces. He crabs, fishes, hunts…he does it all. And there is evidence of that in the shop and garage! God forbid you walk by our house on trash day. 🤢 But it all evens out. He celebrates all the animals I collect, he builds homes and takes care of chickens he didn’t want, and tends to bees that he is allergic to. He is a great dad and is the captain to our ship. Happy birthday MKU! We adore you!!!
Happy birthday to our big guy!!! My mind blown that he is 17!!! How does it go by so quickly?!!! This adorable face is my heart and soul. He made me a mama and makes me a better person. Cole is so funny, smart, crazy talented, and a genuinely good guy. So thankful for our Cole!
I work from home Monday, and Fridays. Where I sit at this desk and see this photo. The print is old, my eye is drifting so I think it’s post accident. let’s say it’s been sitting loose on my desk for 10 years. I’m a man that is both obsessed with objects and also can’t be bothered. Hence no frame. Running into this girl 22 years ago on a drunken work retreat, I had no idea the impact she would have on my life. And to think that 18 years later we would be celebrating by waiting for a kid to get home from baseball. While the little one serenades us with love songs. Just so we could spend time as a family, eating kebabs on the deck. It’s been a great 18 years @missjohannaku . Thank you.

Well a weekend fueled by cigars, hot case corn dogs and whiskey is all wrapped up. Crazy crabbing again today. We had our boat limit after just 4 pots. Then it was back to town to put Beans on a plane. I didn’t know how much I missed that guy until we were grabbing fish and chips on the way back to the airport. I started ugly crying, hiding behind my sunglasses, while we debated whether or not the fryer grease at this place was hot enough to get a proper crisp on our fish. A very KU way to say goodbye.
