Pod issue 01
A steel plate shaped through the environmental cycles surrounding plant growth.
Rain, wind, and heat continuously react with the material — oxidizing, staining, and subtly warping the surface over time.
For this event, the work focused on the brief moment when moisture settles between plant and ground.
That temporary reaction was translated into a visible surface condition, linking natural processes with material transformation.
Through repeated reactions, the steel gradually shifts into a landscape shaped by time, temperature, and moisture.
These layered transformations formed the overall landscape of this issue.

We captured the scent that rises from soil when it meets water. Nothing artificial, just the smell of rain-soaked earth.
It drifted gently through the space,
and guests experienced the change naturally.

Pod issue 01
This work traces the moment when water, poured from a watering can, meets a plant, translating it into a visible form.
The issue is composed of three elements the watering can, the plant, and a Simulated Soil Plate that supports and receives them.
Viewers encounter this moment through form, and through the sensation of moisture felt as a sense of saturation rather than something consumed, along with scent, allowing the moment to unfold as a layered sensory experience.

Like Pachypodium gracilius, native to Madagascar, slowly forms its surface over time, the traces and textures from the making process are left as they are.
As the plant’s skin roughens and deepens to a reddish tone under prolonged exposure to sunlight, brass too naturally oxidizes over time, gaining depth.
The surface grain, reminiscent of marks left by wind and soil, flows seamlessly into the hammer marks formed during forging.

The moment water touches.
Plants don’t really drink water—they exist within its flow.
Roots draw moisture from the soil, carrying nutrients upward.
At the leaves, it evaporates, pulling more water up from below.
It’s a continuous cycle.

물이 닿는 순간.
CON과 Pod는 물조리개에서 시작해, 물이 닿는 순간을 주제로 한 전시를 준비했습니다.
이번 전시는 그 순간 식물이 경험하는 것을 향과 맛으로 따라가보는 자리입니다.
우리는 식물이 될 수는 없지만, 그 감각에 잠시 가까워질 수 있기를 바랍니다.

Watering Can
물조리개
다가오는 식목일을 맞아, Pod와 함께 CON이 새롭게 선보이는 물조리개를 소개합니다.
파키포디움 그락실리우스에서 영감을 받아 적동을 둥근 형태로 단조해 제작했습니다.
식물이 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 표면을 만들어가듯 제작 과정에서 생긴 흔적과 질감을 그대로 담았습니다.
자외선에 노출되어 거칠어지거나 붉게 변한 식물의 표면처럼, 적동 역시 시간에 따라 자연스럽게 산화되며 깊이를 더합니다.
바람과 흙이 남긴 흔적을 닮은 표면의 결은 단조 과정에서 생긴 해머 자국과 자연스럽게 이어집니다.
기능에 충실하면서, 제작 과정의 흔적과 시간의 변화를 담았습니다.

An Instrument of Contemplation, Watering Can
관조의 기물, 물조리개
무언가를 대하는 태도는 집착과 무관심 사이를 진동한다.
두 극단은 일정 부분 필요하지만, 과도해지는 순간 균형은 붕괴된다.
본 이슈는 그 사이에 위치하는 태도, 관조를 다룬다.
관조는 대상을 앞서지 않고, 그 흐름에 개입하지 않는다.
이 태도를 유발하는 물리적 장치로서 물조리개라는 기물을 설정한다.
흙을 고르게 적시고, 필요한 만큼만 스며들게 하는 행위.
이 절제된 작용은 대상과의 관계 방식을 드러낸다.
물조리개는 기능적 도구를 넘어, 태도를 매개하는 장치로 작동한다.
시간을 앞당기지 않고, 과잉을 더하지 않으며, 흐름을 유지하는 방식.
이는 식물에 국한되지 않는다.
동일한 구조는 삶을 대하는 태도로 확장되며,
그 안에서 자각이 발현된다.
이러한 관점은 Pod의 시선에서 구성된 하나의 해석이며,
당일 해당 이슈에 대해 같이 이야기할 수 있기를 바랍니다.

A behind the scenes look at the Vietnamese pumpkin sauces that completed the event.
Two versions were prepared: one highlighting the pure aroma and flavor of Vietnamese pumpkin, and another bisque-style pumpkin sauce enriched with the subtle depth of shrimp, offering guests a fuller tasting experience on the day.

베트남 호박 본연의 향과 맛을 살린 소스와, 새우의 풍미를 더한 비스크 호박 소스 두 가지를 준비해 행사 당일 게스트들에게 풍부한 맛의 경험을 전했다.
