Sorry for the weird formatting but I was going to post this as a story but decided not to,
This post is about the wave of transphobia I got from the video my partner posted of me last week, it doesn't show any but does talk about it - feel free to skip if it you need to!

The countdown begins! In just 10 short days the first ever Queer Robot Fighting League tournament will kick off @blackcathackney
It is shaping up to be a really fun evening of robotic carnage as these tiny instruments of destruction push, throw, slice and smack it out for eternal glory and a small plastic trophy!
Robot signups are still available at
Spectators encouraged! It should be a lot of fun!
I had so much fun last weekend bringing crab'n'lift to @eligumble 's @rock_and_robots
How amazing are @ajlogan1 's photos?? I think they really captured the lovecraftian horror of my eight legged child
Had such a good time taking Omen to @rock_and_robots thanks @ajlogan1 for the stunning pictures!
I ended up coming third in the tournament which is pretty good in my book! - way better than previous months!
I had another bot there too in a cluster and I will post the pics of them soon!
Apple demo (a fantastic prototype collector who's well worth a follow) has found out the cause of the problem that plagues apple iPad prototypes
Basically there's a specific type of chip which if not used for a while starts to degrade, this causes them to lose their firmware - a huge problem if the firmware is prototypical and therefore can't be restored.
This can brick devices, make them unusable and could even cause rare software to be lost forever
Fortunately this is different from the normal chip dementia because it's easily curable, just charge up your device and turn it on every six months or so, this refreshes the chips state and stops the issue!
As well as old ipads, I know for a fact that it affects the Nintendo WiiU and some dell computers so beware - if you want to make sure your old electronics work in the future, make sure you use them now!
Everyone, meet Angel! She's all finished and ready! (well as finished as she's gonna get before Sunday!)
She's not without issue but I think shes gonna work!
One of the absolute pinnacles of my collection has to be this incredibly rare @moby iPod!
So although this 10GB 1st generation iPod looks like one of the artist editions she is actually much more unique! The story goes that these were gifted to Moby and the high ups at V2 records to celebrate the success of his album "18"
There's a lot of rumours swirling about Moby and the iPod, with a very common one being that due to his friendship with members of the design team, he consulted on the sound side of the device and was therefore one of the first non-apple employees to ever listen to the iPod!
I have reached out to both v2, and Moby to see if there's any information about this pod, but have been blanked - which is totally fair enough, they're a big label and he is off doing AMAZING vegan activism so is definitely too busy!
I know what I know about this baby because I contacted the person I bought her off, who explained that his daughter worked for V2 as a higher up, who gifted it to him 23 years ago in 2002. He sold it on due to slimming down his possessions in his old age, and thus she came to me!
As for rarity, there is only one photo of this iPod edition online. And the serial numbers match mine, this means that this is the only one to ever documentedly exist! Presumably Moby was given one, and a couple of other employees would have taken up the offer, but who knows how many of these are still alive and kicking here in 2025! Definitely not many at all though!

The best player you've never heard of! The Haier Ibeza Rhapsody
Released in 2007, these players were massively ahead of their time, packed with futuristic features Apple iPods never got at all!
- bluetooth
- internet browser
- on player music store
- completely computer free operation
- drag and drop
- customizable UI
- direct peer to peer song sharing
- monthly payment / music download plan
- wireless (global) syncing
At the time Haier were the biggest electronics producer in china so they had a lot of resources at their disposal and it really shows, they came out swinging onto the scene!
Unfortunately the player didn't do great... There's a few different reasons I can think of:
- Haier doesn't have a lot of brand recognition, at least as a quality brand.
- most people already had iPods at this point
- the iPhone released in 2007, massively reducing the desirability of MP3 players
- there were a LOT of players on the market at the time, the iPod, Zune, Creative zen, Archos jukebox all were well established on the scene at this point
- the build quality, although out of premium materials feels a bit flimsy and cheap
Despite the flaws I really do love these players and they are some of my faves in the collection - truly an underrated gem!
