Tied for first place with everybody at Bando Bash 🥇☔️
Third annual Bando Bash with the homies from the Pacific Northwest Freestyle Club and bro… the weather was ASS. 😂
We basically spent the day huddled under three canopies like wet raccoons waiting for the rain to chill out. Every time the rain gave us a little mercy window, everybody scattered like feral children to rip packs before the next wave rolled in.
Also… popup tents are absolute traitors. Little puddles build up overhead until suddenly WHOMP—ice cold Oregon rain dumped straight down your spine. Character building.
Saul put a quad on the roof. Nate went up with the Maverick to rescue it… and then ALSO put the Maverick on the roof 💀
So naturally… I brought out the rope ladder (because absolutely not, I am not climbing that shit—everybody knows I hate heights 😅), and then Sal + B-Dog went full Navy SEAL mode, throwing ropes over beams and making questionable life choices in the name of FPV recovery.
Mission success: two quads recovered. 🫡
Mission incomplete: Professor’s quad is apparently now permanent rooftop art installation on one of the towers 😭
Didn’t get to put together the full line I wanted, but honestly that was one of the coolest parts of the day for me. After flying this bando for over a year now, it’s starting to make sense. The weird geometry. The hidden transfers. The lines that used to just look like random concrete chaos.
Weather killed the freestyle comp, so officially:
🥇 everybody tied for first place.
Cold hands. Wet packs. Rooftop rescues. Peak PNW behavior.

🌊✈️ COAST CRAWL // PNW PILOT EXCHANGE 🌲🦍
If you ever feel like you fly alone… consider this your doctor’s note to take a couple sick days and come experience the coast with the homies. 🌊😈
WEDNESDAY + THURSDAY // WE’RE HEADING WEST.
We kick this adventure off Wednesday around noon at the legendary Airplane in the Woods ✈️🌲
If you’ve never been—yes, there is a full-ass airplane in the woods. Yes, it’s awesome. Yes, Bruce is an absolute legend, super welcoming, and cool with people filming respectfully. The inside of the plane opens around 1PM, so if walking through a random airplane in a forest sounds like your kind of weird… you’re among the right people.
From there?
Convoy to the coast. 🌊
Will we make random side quest stops because somebody (me) sees something sketchy and says “yo… I bet that gaps”?
Almost certainly.
But the bigger mission is simple:
Show the visiting homies why Oregon is unfairly beautiful and why the PNW hits different.
Potential chaos menu:
✈️ Airplane in the Woods
🏫 Taft High School brick-gap activities
🏖️ Beach ripping / low tide gorilla loops
🌲 Drift Creek suspension bridge vibes
☕ Pine + Dine pit stop fuel
🛍️ Lincoln City outlet nonsense
🌅 Scenic coastal cliff cruising (where appropriate / legal / don’t be dumb)
🛫 Evergreen Air Museum on the way home because airplanes apparently are becoming a theme now
This is less “strict itinerary” and more organized adventure goblin behavior.
Expect:
🔥 guerrilla whooping
🔥 beach hangs
🔥 cinematic cruising
🔥 possible long-range shenanigans
🔥 random weird Oregon discoveries
🔥 too much laughter
🔥 at least one quad in a tree
We’re staying on the coast Wednesday night and hanging / flying all day Thursday.
Thinking about joining? Now’s the move.
⛺ Wanna keep it budget? Grab a campsite.
🏡 Wanna go comfy? Snag an Airbnb.
Midweek coast spots are still gettable right now… but probably not once everybody sees this.
Come for the coastline.
Stay because somebody handed you goggles and now you’re part of the problem.
🌊🦍

“Do you have any business on campus?”
One Way Whoop didn’t even flinch.
“Yeah… we’re studying FPV.” 😎
And honestly? Not a lie.
Pulled up to Concorde Career College with Miles thinking we might get the boot because some other pilots had already gotten bounced by security. About 20 minutes in, security rolls up.
But instead of going defensive, we just talked. Human to human. Dude told us stories about dealing with homeless folks giving him a hard time, we listened, showed some empathy, bullshitted for a minute…
…and next thing you know, he gets called away for something else and leaves us to keep flying 😂
Reminder that sometimes the move isn’t to gorilla harder… sometimes it’s just to be cool.
Shoutout to Miles / One Way Whoop for the elite improv acting skills 🎬🚁
Yesterday was one of those “blow off steam at the park with the homies” kind of sessions with Miles aka One Way Whoop and Emily (still accepting FPV pilot name applications 😂). We were out there trying to finish up some of these iGow scavenger hunt challenges before Saturday… so if you’re competing, clock’s ticking. ⏰
At some point I decided a disarm dive sounded like a good idea. Turns out I forgot the very important “rearm” portion of the maneuver. 😂 Straight into the tree canopy. Drone just hanging there judging me.
Luckily the golf ball retriever came through clutch once again. If you fly around trees and you DON’T own one of those 20-foot golf ball retrievers yet… what are you even doing?
Pro tip: I cut a little section out of the golf ball grabber so it’s shaped more like a “C.” Makes it way easier to hook quad arms, snag branches, and fish rigs out of the danger zone.
FPV survival kit:
✅ spare props
✅ zip ties
✅ golf ball retriever
✅ homies willing to stand under the tree laughing at you
Let’s go. 🌲🚁
Can you tell how much fun I was having? Dancing in the wind - 💨 I wonder if it was the sign that is was our last flight together 🪓🥺

Last Stop: Oneonta Gorge 🌊🪨 (layered like tiramisu)
This one’s not a yes or no… it’s layers.
Top layer — keep it clean ☕️
Pull up, stay roadside, fly it from a distance.
You’ll still get lines. You’ll still feel it. No drama.
Middle layer — a little closer 🍫
Work your way in at your own discretion.
Know the rules. Respect the space. Move smart.
Bottom layer — risk the biscuit 🍰
Deep gorge, cold water, log jam, full send to the falls.
It’s a mission. It’s real. It’s on you.
We scouted it… I forgot to charge my goggles 🤦♂️ so no FPV from me.
Had the pup with us too 🐕 so we stopped short—but watching people disappear into that canyon? Yeah… different energy.
This won’t be an official crawl stop—but it’s the final layer for those who want to go deeper.
After this, we regroup at Thunder Island Brewing Company 🍻
Clips on screen, food, drinks, and a proper hang.
Pick your layer. Own your choice.
