THIS IS 48. SWIPE to see BEFORE pic. Over the last several years, I listened to the chorus of voices (real & perceived) that made me believe that there was something wrong w/ my uniqueness. It taught me to dislike myself. Eventually, I ceased to love myself. I disliked what I saw every morning. I started to settle. This was what life was supposed to be now, right? I stopped pushing myself. I forgot who I was. I forgot what made me different, & thus, special - what made me PMT. As that happened, health issues piled up – knees, shoulder, hot flashes, hernia. I lost the ability to move the right side of my upper body. I was breaking down mentally & physically. That forced me to be honest w/ myself. I wasn’t happy - & what if these health issues were related to my loss of self-love? As hard as that was to accept, it gave me something I needed – control over my life. I had to own my issues - whether they were my fault or not. I was looking outside for validation. I compromised my health to conform. I relied on the healthcare system rather than listening to myself. I avoided the harder path & settled for the shorter ones. MISTAKE. 6 mo. ago (BEFORE PIC), I made changes. Rehab, PT, gym - hours a day while still working. It was humbling, painful. Changed my diet. Hit the gym. Trained HARD & diverse. Started journaling (I call them Captain’s Logs). Started therapy. Reconnected w/ old friends who did not forget me🙏🏾 I found purpose through the process. Now, I feel fucking GREAT. People tell me I look younger, different, better. Importantly, I love myself again. My body feels strong, pain-free - as great as it has felt in yrs. I look in the mirror & I finally see something that makes life worth living. Be HONEST w/urself. BELIEVE in urself. Ur will is an unstoppable force. Once u overcome, u r enriched from what u learned on the journey – even if unexpected. The journey is the reward. U just must believe that the journey is worth taking & that u deserve the rewards from it. PS – To those who put down uniqueness, to the @nystateofhealth (u still suck) but mostly foremost to my own self-doubt, that scowl is for u. #menshealth #mentalhealth #fitlife

Dance therapy: Dance (like MJ when no ones watching. Always in network and never any co-pays. 1. My absolute safe space is dancing, anywhere, like MJ. I’d put on my own concerts. Saved me from the toughest moments of life To this day, I love this feeling. No crowds to please, no job to get, just joy. 2. Year ago, suffered an infliction, adhesive capsulitis, that took away strength and mobility from a quarter of my body thanks to shitty healthcare and a ‘system error’ by @nystateofhealth which took my insurance away for 2 months at a critical time. 🖕🏾 3. Sneak peak as I have an exciting announcement with @pmthouseofdance for Summer 2025. Thankfully, 75% of PMT, fueled by amazing students and community is still enough to be going strong into year 25 of my professional dance life. Finally getting back to these moments. Thankful to the fam for sustaining me. Lucky to have you all 🙏🏾 Music and inspiration: @michaeljackson #pmtdance #hiphopdance #mj #michaeljackson #pmtdancefam #danceteacher #indiandancer #dancer #frozenshoulder #shouldermobility #healthcareusa

Maletira B. Thimmaiah August 19th, 1942 - November 22nd, 2025 Attorney. Father. Brother. Husband. Born out of the backdrop of colonial India, Maletira B. Thimmaiah escaped poverty to become an esteemed attorney, eventually immigrating to the US to seek a better life for his future family centered around his wife and 2 sons - Ashvin and Pavan. Establishing his own practice as an immigration attorney, he helped hundreds of families find a better life in the US - often on a pro bono basis. With a determination that accepted nothing short of success as a matter of survival, he imparted upon his children the value of hard work and finding purpose through something bigger than oneself. Through this, PMT House of Dance was born as his son, Pavan M. Thimmaiah, carried these lessons forward. M.B. Thimmaiah was integral to the establishment of our community. As a carpenter and engineer, he participated in and oversaw the construction of our first home at 69 West 14th Street. As our attorney, he incorporated our business, negotiated our first lease, helped to negotiate labor contracts all while traveling to shows to build set pieces and support his son. He imparted these skills to Pavan, ensuring that PMT will always be ready for every challenge and able to serve its community in a moment's notice Today, we celebrate the life of our beloved patriarch, Maletira B. Thimmaiah. Surrounded by love, he lived a life of consequence. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy that will be felt for generations. He is survived by his sons Pavan and Ashvin and his wife of 50 years Chondamma Thimmaiah. We love you and you will be with us forever. Thank you for making PMT possible.
