Zur Saisoneröffnung startet „ORBIT – Ausstellungsort und Raum für Vernetzung“ am Sonntag, den 29. März 2026 mit der Ausstellung „I didn't need to see that von @pluto.expo .
Er selbst schreibt zu seiner Arbeit: „Täglich werden wir mit Bildern überschüttet, aber war es wirklich nötig, das Foto vom Leid Anderer oder vom Gemälde, das meine Tante bei ihrem Museumsbesuch gemacht hat, zu sehen? Wie viele Fotos habe ich und wie viel Platz nehmen sie ein? Als Gegenentwurf wird hier lediglich ein Bild in seinen Einzelteilen gezeigt.“

Täglich können wir beobachten, wie Bilder, die mithilfe Künstlicher Intelligenz generiert wurden, auch auf unseren Umgang mit der Fotografie einwirken. Von der Produktion bis zum Gebrauch wandeln sich die fotografischen Praktiken – und mit ihnen auch das Verständnis davon, was eine Fotografie zeigt und ist.
Im Rahmen des Seminars »The Pencil of Nature, 1844–2026«, geleitet von @Steffen.Siegel , haben Studierende im B.A. Fotografie an der @folkwang_uni im Wintersemester 2025/2026 diese Fragen diskutiert. Ganz nach dem Vorbild von William Henry Fox Talbots berühmten Fotobuch haben sie eine eigene Tafel entworfen, die sich mit den Herausforderungen der Künstlichen Intelligenz auseinandersetzt.

This is still the small digital point and shoot, I think this time I didn’t shoot in 640x480 but in 2400x something. I thought it be cool to shoot in really low quality but didn’t like the outcome as much as with a higher resolution.

Well this is something that can happen if you developed at home. The problem was my unfamiliarity with the jobo spool, so the to 120 films I tried to get in there stuck together and did not develop properly. Although I would have liked to see the whole picture this is what I got and I like that.
If I learned one thing on my way to becoming a goldsmith it's that even if things go wrong they can turn out ok and even good. I know it sounds corny lol. Well I'll post some more of those :) I hope you like them.

Shot on Mamiya RB67 Pro S with 127mm f:3.8 and Fomopan 100 @ Iso 400
Developed in Rodinal 1:100 for 1h with agitating the first 30 seconds and then for 4 minutes 2 slow inversions every minute. After half an hour another 2 inversions every minute for two minutes.
