Born and raised in Johannesburg, she has spent over two decades building a reputation through hypnotic sets, deep musical knowledge, and consistent presence within the culture—not just as a DJ, but also as a producer, curator, and label owner Her journey began in the early 2000s, during a period when women in South Africa’s dance music scene had far less visibility. Rather than adapting to trends, DJ Buhle developed a sound rooted in deep house, dub influences, soulful textures, and long-form groove selection. MEGAL - formally known as Marcelino Booysen is a dub techno enthusiast born and raised in Eldorado Park - Johannesburg He started his musical journey at the age of 8 when he discovered a dub reggae record collection belonging to his father and it was at this moment that he knew he would be part of the journey in Dub Music, especially after @i_am_megal joined @sound_magnetics where he began playing electronic music Being mentored by Wesley Damons and @shervaanbergsteedt allowed him to develop a unique and refined dub techno sound that has moved him through dynamic crowds and shared spaces with diverse DJs—continuously pushing his sound forward For MEGAL it’s all about a deep, dubby mood and a hypnotic atmospheric experience which led him to play at venues such as @poolsidejozi (Maboneng), @house_22 (Pretoria), OST (Newtown) as well as @andclub (Newtown) We are excited to have him back for another round of Dubs alongside @jemiii.x , @dj_buhle , @adyfleming , @blaquemystery__jhb and @ethans.wav 📍 @badmanorsjozi - Newtown 🗓️ Saturday, 16 May 2026 🎟️ R100 All Night
