After all the time and effort put in over the last 2 years, the new Dropsonic vinyl has arrived and I want to take a second to acknowledge our friends and collaborators that have helped to make this happen. Firstly, William DuVall for his sage-like wisdom and production input. Next, our longtime collaborator and one time guitarist, Calvin Florian, for the graphic design and band photography. Then there’s Michi Meko whose gorgeous artwork graces the cover and inner sleeve of the album. Also, Kyle Spence for his deft hand in mastering our record. And lastly, John Frazier from Spartan Records for taking a chance and releasing this thing we worked so hard on. It officially hits the streets on May 16th. We’re super proud of it and hope everyone checks it out, picks up a copy, and comes to a show— pre orders are happening now or you can pick one up from us at the EARL at our release show next week—

SUBWAYS HUM -NEW MUSiC ALERT: A common thread amongst those of us that are drawn to the chaos of the big city is that even while existing in the middle of a crowd of people, we still find moments where we feel alone and isolated. There are rhythms to our daily life, which become a part of the landscape in which our minds wander, including the honking of cabs, and the symphony of sounds emerging from our subways. I wrote this song as I was feeling the loss of great loves in my life and thinking about how transformative love can be while literally feeling the reverberations of the subway under my feet. For our next MakeMoreMusic ATL event, we’ll be joined by musician, engineer, mixer, and producer Dan Dixon. He is a founding member of the bands PLS PLS and NRCSSST, as well as long time Atlanta favorite Dropsonic. In addition to being a successful songwriter and touring artist, he is an awesome freelance engineer and producer, running RCRD studios in Peoplestown, GA. He was previously head engineer at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Studio (where he recorded tons of acts including Zac Brown himself), has written for film and television, released 12 albums since 1999, and has a platinum record.
