Once home to the iconic Fulton Fish Market, the original Tin Building was painstakingly dismantled piece by piece. Historic cast-iron columns and riveted trusses were carefully preserved, while the unstable pier below was entirely rebuilt.
Today, a new three-story structure rises 33 feet east of the original site, elevated above the floodplain and crowned with a faithful recreation of its 19th-century tin façade. The result is a seamless blend of preserved history and modern engineering—transforming a weathered market hall into a renewed landmark.
