We're already HALFWAY through our 30 Days of Play, and there is so much more play to go! Here are a few ways we have been playing recently - what has been your favorite type of play so far this month? 💜
Over 9,000 children (ages 3-17) at DC Public and Charter Schools experienced homelessness last year. With summer fast approaching, we want to provide a stable place to play while families search for a place to call home. Please consider donating to our 30 Days of Play campaign to support our growing programs for children experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity! Link in bio ❤️
We are honored and so grateful to receive a generous $25,000 matching donation from one of our longtime supporters. THANK YOU!
Your investment intermission will allow children experiencing housing insecurity to gain resilience-building skills through the power of play!
WE DID IT! Thanks to your generous donations and desire to pie Mr. Jordan, we have reached our goal and raised over $25,000!!! Stay tuned for the video of Playtime kids throwing a pie in Mr. Jordan's face! (He said this is fun, we promise!) 🥧 🙈
Dramatic play is not just for kids! From reading fantasy books, to themed parties, to story-based games, there are many ways to engage your imagination through play.
What types of dramatic play do you enjoy?

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms and caregivers out there! We love celebrating our dedicated, loving, and hard-working moms who give their all to support their families. Ms. Naoko helped our kids make origami hearts to show their appreciation for everything their moms do!
Help us "pie" Mr. Jordan! If we raise $25k by May 13, we’ll unlock a playful surprise at program (our kids will throw a pie in our Program Director's face 😮 🥧).
Because of your generosity, we have already raised over $14k! We see all the amazing ways you've been playing, and we wanted to make the stakes a little "pie-er" 😉 Let’s see if we can reach our next milestone goal and unlock a little extra fun along the way. Donate in bio!
Why is play important? We know that opportunities to play mean strengthening social-emotional development, problem solving skills, and optimism for the future. Many children experiencing housing insecurity don't get the chance to play, and we are dedicated to providing them with transformative play experiences. Here are some reasons our Playtime kids and volunteers love play! Why is play important to you? Answer below!
During 30 Days of Play, we challenge you to play for at least 10 minutes every day! With how busy life can get, it can feel difficult to set aside even a few minutes for yourself. Here are some ideas of ways to incorporate play into your everyday life:
🌸 Draw a flower for a friend
🎵 Dance to music you love while getting ready in the morning
🦆🦆 Take a walk with friends and name what you see, smell, hear, and feel.
🧩 Do a puzzle before bed to let your mind and eyes relax
What are your favorite ways to add play into your day?

There are so many ways to play! At Playtime, our programs explore the variety of ways to play in order to provide children with many types of play opportunities.
First up, we have Sensory Play! You can engage your five senses by listening to music, smelling a nice candle, or even spending time outside. Sensory play helps us flex our curiosity muscles while building motor skills and encouraging experimentation.
How do you like to flex your Sensory Play different muscles?

☀️ 30 Days of Play is finally here! ☀️
It's May 1st, which means Playtime is challenging YOU to play for at least 10 minutes every day for the next 30 days.
