Some of us in life win the mom lottery. I can said full heartedly i did.
Life doesn't give us many certainties, but I can say one for sure. I love my mom aka Mim or Gammy to my niece.
On Sunday I lost one of the greatest loves of my life, my best friend and my heart. My Mim.
Growing up my nickname was Mini Lynne (said Lynn-E) and it was my favorite compliment. She was a firecracker of a woman, who was kind, the type of Gammy who would play for hours at the beach or the park or in the playroom, wanted to know your stories, see your goodwill finds, share her crazy life tales, go on adventures, and always comforted you with a hug and a cool cloth on your forehead. Her hugs were a combination of back scratches and sways of rocking you like a baby, she never let go first.
She loved hard, made friends anywhere she went, loved to be goofy, made me laugh harder than anyone, was a mom/Gammy always and even through the greatest of battles she fought hard. She loved life and kicked stage IV lung cancer's ass for 7 years.
Her death was unexpected and fast, but she always wanted to go out quick with a bang. Cancer didn't kill her... her heart gave up. And with her gone, sadly my heart went as well.
Before she left my family she said it scared her how much I loved her because what would happen when she's gone. It comforts me knowing that she knows how much I love her and how much she loves me.
So I made a promise, that I would take care of myself and watch out for our family.
This video is just a short glimpse of her very crazy life.
I love you Mim, to the moon and back, in this life and the next 🖤
🏁 what a hell of a Saturday.
Favorite story: 906 totaled in 72, rebuilt in the last 3 years. (She's from 66 Le Mans).
A man who is a wood worker making boats stripped it down to the original body, decided to take on one last restoration project... the owner bought the molds and they restored it back to OG. Took 3 years. Insane
FUN is one! 🥳💚
One year ago, we started bringing friends together to take care of Savannah’s overlooked and forgotten green spaces. Since then, Friends of Urban Nature (F.U.N.) has hosted 15 cleanup events and picked up over 40,000 lbs of trash across the greater Savannah area with over 500 volunteers from the community.
These cleanups started in the wildlife and nature filled Springfield canal and have expanded to parks and historic cemeteries across the city. The positive impact on the spaces from people spending a couple hours on a Saturday morning really shows that collective effort can make a big difference.
As a group of organizers, we’ve learned so much more about Savannah as we searched for litter to clean and solutions to keep it clean. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of it and we plan to keep it going in year #2 with more ways to make Savannah greener and cleaner. 🫶🌳🌎
