Hundreds of candles cast a golden orb of light around last night’s @candlelight.concerts performance at @kwv_cathedralcellar and the effect was spellbinding. As we watched, transfixed, @playstringquartet took us on an intimate journey through Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, bringing to life the sounds of children, barking dogs, birds, the building storm, driving rain, the first buds of spring and the harsh crackle of ice. All of these were sonic experiences that Vivaldi brought into his music at a time when drama and emotion were the drawcard to experience. I’m not sure who the charismatic storyteller was, but I have never seen music pour through somebody as palpably as the lead #violinist; she brought the brilliance of #Vivaldi searingly to life. To be immersed in his 12 movements, in an ocean of flickering #candles against the backdrop of @kwvwines majestic cathedral #cellar was an unforgettable moment in time.
