While we continue to monitor developments surrounding third-party litigation, East Potomac Golf Links is open for business. We will provide updates as they become available.
Thank you for your continued support.
Since 2024, we have been proud to host our Free Lesson Friday event series in Washington, DC.
While golf in America has traditionally been a pastime of the wealthy and exclusionary by nature, municipal golf stands in stark contrast. It is our mission to ensure that the game stays affordable, accessible, and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, both in Washington, DC and across the country.
Free Lesson Friday is one way we have addressed this in our time operating the three courses in our nation’s capital. It provides a welcoming introduction to the game, free of boundaries and judgment. It has provided thousands of people with the chance to experience golf for the first time, and it has made our facilities feel even more open to the community as a whole. It is just a part of what we have accomplished, but it is among the most impactful initiatives we have undertaken.
Historic Langston Golf Course has been one of the anchors of this program, and we are excited to be bringing it back in just three weeks (5/22). If you would like to participate, or you know someone who might, tap the link in our bio to learn more.
Free Lesson Friday is back!

A look at the 2026 edition of Reversible Day.
Thank you to the 120 players who joined us last week for Reversible Day at East Potomac Golf Links. Five years into hosting this great event, and we finally got perfect weather for our participants to enjoy the cross country 14-hole routing inspired by Walter Travis’ original reversible design. Thank you to the East Potomac Golf Links staff, our volunteers, and our friends at Atlas Brew Works (@atlasbrewworks ) for helping make the event possible. Congratulations to our winners: JP Klingenberg and Phil Curtin in the morning and Sam Lipson and James Fitzpatrick in the afternoon.
Tuesday nights are a thing again 🤝⛳️
Sunset League returns to Langston on May 5th at 5:30PM. 9 holes. Good competition. Even better energy.
If you’ve been, you already know…

Peak bloom on the historic cherry trees at East Potomac Golf!
These trees on the White Course are reportedly the oldest cherry trees in the city and last remaining from the original 1910 shipment gifted to the District by the mayor of Tokyo. While just a small part of what makes East Potomac so special, they are a unique, important intersection between the history of our nation’s capital and the property.
Registration for Reversible Day on Friday, April 17th at East Potomac Golf Links is now open!
Despite our uncertainty at the facility, we are planning to host this event and provide our community with the once-a-year privilege of playing a 14-hole reversible routing inspired by Walter Travis’ original design of the historic Blue Course. Tap the link in our bio to learn more and register.
We are planning to host the fifth Reversible Day outing on Friday, April 17th at East Potomac Golf Links. The event is a celebration of Walter Travis' original reversible design of the historic Blue Course at East Potomac Golf Links, as well as a friendly two-person team competition. The format will be a two-person scramble on the 14-hole reversible routing. Included in registration are the once-a-year privilege of playing the 14-hole reversible routing, cart, tee gift, and food. There will be an 8 AM and a 2 PM shotgun.
With the uncertainty around our future at the facility, there is a chance this event will be canceled. In that case, National Links Trust will provide a 100% refund or provide you the option to roll your registration into a donation to support our community programming and work to ensure the best possible outcomes for the courses in Washington, DC.
Given our uncertain future, we anticipate this event to sell out. 2026 Capital Club program members receive early access to registration and a limited-time discount, so to maximize your chance to play this unique event join or renew today. Exclusive Capital Club registration will begin this Monday, March 9th!
Tap the link in our bio to join or renew your Capital Club membership and gain access to early registration (we also have another Capital Club exclusive event coming very soon that you won't want to miss...).
Yesterday was playDCgolf Events and Marketing Manager, Cara Hawkins’ last day with our team. She joined us in 2021 and served as the Assistant General Manager at East Potomac Golf Links before taking a leadership role on the events side in 2022. Since then, she helped transform the event offerings at the courses and expand the network of partner organizations that use them to support their work.
While we are proud of Cara’s contributions, we’re most proud of how she bought into our mission and was such a positive representative for our organization in her role. We are pleased to share that she will continue to carry her passion for municipal golf and positively impacting local communities in her next role at Cobbs Creek in Philadelphia, PA (@cobbs.creek.foundation ).
Thank you, Cara!
