Two unforgettable evenings filled with music, poetry, and the power of freedom 🌿 On 9 April, Berlin experienced a moving performance at @radialsystem_berlin – #freemaria, created by Maria Kalesnikava and @jochensandig , touched the audience through a profound interplay of music and Maria’s own words — a call for inner freedom. The following night, 10 April, Maria returned to her alma mater, @hmdk_stuttgart , for Sounds of Freedom. With her TRIO vis-à-vis and many inspiring fellow musicians, she celebrated art as a source of resilience and hope. An unforgettable performance and concert showing how music connects, heals, and inspires. The video says it all. 🫶

Forget Me Not is a soundscape installation about dreams (link in bio). When people leave their homeland, family relationships are remade in exile. Some are left behind, others are carried with us into unfamiliar places, where we all become versions of ourselves that may no longer be fully recognizable. Forget Me Not explores how family bonds persist through dreams when physical presence becomes impossible. For those far from home, dreams become portals, not to ancient spirit worlds, but to loved ones and landscapes left behind. This installation brings together three people far away from home who retell dreams with their parents and close family members. Through dreamwork, the practice of staying close to dreams, our own and those of others, we enter a liminal space where memory, longing, and sound converge. Voices intertwine with field recordings and melodies, breaking trees, hoopoes in the forest, and fragments of song, echoing the confusion and calm of dreaming itself. When I began (re)telling these stories, it was under a full moon. Standing on my balcony, I saw three small moons falling from the sky, two lamps and one reflection. In Azerbaijani storytelling, it is customary to say: “three apples fell from the sky, one for you, one for me, and one for the storyteller.” Here, three moons fell instead, one for Dima, one for Günay, and one for Samira. Their moons traveled from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, and came to rest together in one view. I am grateful to @peanutbutcher for curating and to @gaspmagazine and @platformb for this commission. Grateful to @d_jhe_d , @gunayrzazada , and @sami__gardi for trusting me with their dreams. Thank you for the moons.

»𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀« We present the final project from the platformB Open Call 2025. This is a digital journey into memory, distance and love, as reshaped by screens. Through fragmented video calls, glitches and pixelated moments, this piece of work considers how technology connects us and the places where presence still slips away. It tells the story of closeness across borders, of summers lived in two places at once, and of the space between remembered and imagined realities. Created by Aksana Dabryianets @_._neversmile_._ Video by Borys Peuchy @b.peuchy Visit platformB art to experience the project.

More than a map — a growing network of connections. Today we’re introducing »𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗽«, a project selected through PlatformB’s Open Call The »𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗽« is a digital guide that Blau Studio @blaustudio.art and Liza Maslionchanka co-created together with artists and art practitioners. It traces studios, cafés, bars, green spots, and places of encounter — all mapped through personal conversations with local creators. Each entry is a lived experience: raw, honest, and shaped by the people who actively create culture in their cities. Both emerging and established voices come together, weaving stories into spatial exploration. The map grows through connection, trust, and shared knowledge. Explore at platformB art (Link in bio)

Bringing you the final BLAU MAP 2025 edition, we introduce Diogo Barros Pires @diogo_barros_pires from Portugal. Diogo thinks in series: faces that age, shift palette and move from sheet to sheet, like chapters of one long story. In the background there is another structure, his training in economics and the daily work of running Safra Lx @safra.lx , an artist-run workshop in Lumiar. Studio, shared space, city walks and lunch cafés all fold into one practice. Read the full Lisbon interview on BLAU MAP (→) Supported by PlatformB @platformb_art

What incredible, wonderful news: Maria is free!!!!! And with her, another 120 political prisoners from Belarus. Her sister Tatsiana Khomich has already been able to speak to her on the phone. We hope that we will soon be able to hug her – after more than five years in prison.

»𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲«, a project born out of migration, memory, and connection, emerged from platformB's Open Call. Created in Germany at a time of intensified migration restrictions and rising xenophobia, »𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲« reflects on displacement and exile through tenderness, resilience and the pursuit of joy, rather than sorrow. The Title comes from "𝗗𝗷𝗮𝗻", a word from the Turkic language family – meaning both 'life' and 'soul', and used as a term of affection for someone dear. It’s a reminder of togetherness, even across borders. Five artists weave personal and intergenerational stories of love, labour and belonging: Nihad Nino Pušija: Roma displacement in Germany Mariat Abdulkhamidova @embassyofmariat : fairytale memories of her grandmother in Dagestan Aysel Akhundova @lesyacestcam : soundscapes of dreams in exile Dasha Trofimova @daszatrofimova : generational migration from Kazakhstan to Riga Ali Asfour @ass.four : the work about Palestinian displacement through family archives Curated by Katya F., Evgeniia Skvortsova and Misha Kurilov, who are members of the Typography Collective and migrants themselves, this project uses intimacy as a means of exploring belonging and transformation. »𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲« explores the complexities of exile, honouring what was lost while searching for new ways to live, love and connect. Today, we are presenting the web sound installation selected through Open Call platformB. »𝗗𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻/𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀« by composer, sound artist and bassoonist Ilia Viazov @_kndzni , who explores the dissociation of personality experienced during forced emigration, creating an abstract portrayal of an identity fractured by displacement. Through interactive sound and visual elements, the installation invites visitors to participate in the reconstruction process, encouraging them to create their own unique sonic landscape through their individual rhythms, gestures and perceptions. 🖱 Fast cursor movements trigger energetic sound textures. 🖱 Slow movements reveal softer tones and subtle harmonies. 🖱 Circles, zigzags and sudden changes add new layers of intensity. The ABC of Exclamations transformed St. Elisabeth Kirche into a world of wonder. Poet Vera Burlak and her son Kastuś Žybul reimagined the Belarusian alphabet through 34 emotional exclamations turned into vivid stories, fantastical drawings, and enigmatic poems. Animator Monika Nuber and composer Georgia Koumará expanded their universe into an immersive installation that invited audiences to feel, listen, and look closer. Photos: Daria Kreuzberg
