Some things just touch your heart. These two cousins in a Polaroid print taken around 1982 in Poland about one week before one of them escaped to Australia. They are the dearest little fellows.
@creinamoore has painted some of her fish on a 300gsm print of an old map of my fathers from ‘the boat times’ on the bay. I’ve framed them up but I want you all to see the detail. So brilliant. There are three of them . Different parts of the map/ different fish. Come and see us as a part of @iam_straddie at 33 ‘Trammo’ with @jennifer.hillhouse pottery and also some of her pots for @rivindi plants.
A beautiful little art work by Wendy Fry for @iam_straddie on 11th August. My only contribution here was to give her the bit of wood and put the hanger on the back. A few of Wendy’s little beach art works will be at ours for the Straddie trail along with @jennifer.hillhouse pottery and @rivindi really interesting potted plants
A series of Hawaiian prints by Eugene Savage purchased for me by some visitors to the region from the Honolulu Museum of Art. Framed in silky oak. Reminding me of beach house decorating when we (some of us ) were young.
Four little ‘sea shore’ stitcheries by Sarah Meka @harased for @iam_straddie more to come. They will be scattered about for purchasing. Little baby spotted gum frames.
Another old frame and art work retrieved from obscurity for Louise. she actually did most of the work here in painting the frame. A new mat was required and a clean of the old glass and now it’s so nice I just had to take a pic.
2 posts in a row!!! What’s going on.??? It just has to seem right and this one did. It is an old painting that used to hang on the kitchen wall all my young life, found in a cupboard and I have made a spotted gum float frame for it and there she is, back on the wall again!!!!Painted by a man called Lloyd Hemming who lived around the corner from my parents and whose wife helped Mum when I was born…. That’s all a bit of unnecessary information but there it is!
Mr Barwell from Pt Lookout paints fish on the back of old book covers. They are beautiful and popular. I’ve put these fellows in some bits of old floor board turned into frames for Kara @kararosenlund
