This year has really been a dream for me, but one of my main highlights was sitting down with @emergeerg@spotifyuk , chatting all things @womenconnectuk and a day in the life of a promoter. We get into leadership, pivotal moments in my childhood, culture, aspirations and more. From all the chaos of putting together shows in my day to day, to the communities I’m a part of as a way of giving back, I still can’t believe people want to hear about my life. Last Thursday felt like proof of what can happen when community shows up! My incredible Embrace Nation team, teamed up with Live Nation and Wasserman, brought a room full of bright minds together and the energy was honestly beautiful. I’m so grateful to our panellists Charlie (Ticketmaster), Caitlin (Live Nation Global), Nina (Johnnie Walker, Diageo) and Nick (Wasserman) for sharing their real life insight and to everyone who came through.
The whole aim was to give back, to create space for people from underserved communities and tbh to get people across entertainment talking to each other. This was just one way to open up pathways into live. I’m proper happy we could pour into people the best way we know how and I hope we get to do more of this.

Feeling so grateful after wrapping up our Gig Lab course with the amazing team at Lewisham Music. All the late night planning sessions, going past office curfews, eating our way through their biscuit stash and most importantly, getting to know such an incredible next generation of live music talent… it was all worth it. Not just in the physical sense but for my soul too.
After 10+ years in the entertainment space, this experience has truly been a top 3 highlight of my career. The cohort were everything I could have asked for and I learned just as much from them as they (hopefully!) did from us.
To our brilliant industry guests who gave their time so generously to support @womenconnectuk : I’ll never stop being thankful, because time is the one thing we can’t get back. Special thanks to the acts who performed at the final showcase – you brought the whole journey to life on stage and made it unforgettable.

Might have one of the coolest jobs in the world?
I was invited to speak at @sxswlondon for THE RISE OF AFRICAN WOMEN IN LIVE for @feminaenox alongside some incredible female powerhouses in the live space.
We touched on music but also the infrastructure in Africa and how that translates in other major territories. Not only were there were some harsh truths but some astronomical wins and an insight into what’s to come.

• Speaking on the FEMINAE NOX panel: Rise of African Women in Live Music (June 4th, 1pm at Christ Church Spitalfields)
• Hosting a Women in Music Meet-Up with @womenconnectuk (June 4th, 5-6pm at 93 Feet East).
I also had the pleasure of being part of the music jury for the music programme. This work is super personal to me as representation, visibility and access matter. Grateful to be building space where we are seen and heard.
