We buzzed over to Leota’s Edu-Fest to discover how Leota’s 6th Grade students are using code to monitor and support global bee conservation. @planet_bee launched this innovative Coding for Conservation project with support from @woodinvillerotary and a @rotaryinternational Global Grant. This was a huge effort that was only made possible by the amazing staff and teachers at Leota Middle School, Kirsten Adams being one of our superstars making sure the program was not just done but, delivered, documented and celebrated! Our own @northshoreinteract Co-President @evenneburgess was an intern, along with two other @uw_bothell interns. Their work was a key component to the program’s success. A shoutout to Woodinville Rotarian Dave Hunter with Crown Bees for driving this opportunity and for seeing this through, along with Paul Olmsted for handling the finances. @woodinvillerotary was proud to sponsor such an impactful project!

NEW! Bee Happy Wild Bee Seed Mix 🐝   50% of the proceeds from this packet directly supports @planet_bee , a nonprofit dedicated to STEM education, pollinator conservation, and sustainability. Through hands-on programs, Planet Bee helps students, schools and communities learn about science while planting habitat for native bees.    We love this easy-to-grow mix of colorful annuals and perennials because it is thoughtfully designed with early, mid, and late-season bloomers in mind for foraging bees all season long. Created from years of research into the flower preferences of honey bees and wild native bees, flowers of varying shapes and sizes accommodate both short and long-tongued bees.   Perfect for garden beds, borders, and informal meadows, it’s a simple way to support the pollinators that help our gardens – and our planet.   Contains: Agastache rugosa, Callistephus chinensis, Cheiranthus allionii, Coreopsis lanceolata, Coreopsis tinctoria, Cynoglossum amabile, Echinacea purpurea, Erigeron speciosus, Eschscholzia californica, Gaillardia pulchella, Gilia capitata, Layia platyglossa, Linum perenne, Lobularia maritima, Monarda fistulosa, Nemophila menziesii, Papaver rhoeas, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae.

Meet @aracelifarms — a woman-of-color owned farm just outside Dixon, CA, growing four acres of lavender across seven cultivars and two acres of California native plants, with deep roots in soil health, land equity, and advocacy for small farms and disadvantaged communities. Through our Pollinator Habitat Program (PHP), a grant funded through CDFA, Araceli Farm is planting fruit trees, herbs, and flowering plants to create habitat for bees, birds, butterflies, moths, and beetles. 🌿🐝 Learn more about PHP at the link in our bio! #PlanetBee #PHPGrant #PollinatorHabitat #CaliforniaFarms

We brought the buzz to @cisco Recycle IT Day 🐝 Our team set up an interactive booth where employees stopped by to learn about pollinators, dive into bee education, and get a closer look at Cisco’s honey bee program. Always a good day when we get to talk bees and meet people who care about protecting them 🌼 #pollinators #savethebees #nativebees #corporatepartners

We’ve been buzzing coast to coast this Earth Month 🐝 From the West Coast to the East Coast, we teamed up with incredible partners to bring pollinator education, hands-on workshops, and a whole lot of curiosity to communities across the country. To everyone who showed up, built with us, learned with us, and supported this work— thank you. It takes all of us to create a more bee-friendly world, and we’re just getting started. #earthmonth #nativebees #protectpollinators

Big thank you to our partners at @amacobrent for providing the clay that is included in our Seed Ball Stewardship Grant Kit! 🌱🐝 Our grant kit gives educators, nonprofits, and community groups the tools to create native pollinator habitat while learning about the role bees play in healthy ecosystems. From classrooms to community gardens, these seed balls help plant the future—one patch of habitat at a time. Interested in bringing pollinator stewardship to your community? Sutro dreams unlocked! Beekeeping with @snels47 and @planet_bee today under one of San Francisco’s iconic landmarks tickled me. Sam and I installed two honey bee hives at this site which was so peaceful and serene as one of the city’s natural high points. Always love seeing SF from a new perspective!
