For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to find the right words to properly express myself. When Dreamland began it was an impromptu idea to celebrate my heritage, my community and to explore new avenues of creativity and expression after being away from home for the past two years.
Over the past few months I’ve been able to create work that continues to inspire me, I was able to form many new relationships with individuals I’m now proud to call friends, I’ve been able to bring new ideas to life and most importantly inspire my community. In the beginning I had no idea how large this project would grow and how many people would be interested in being involved. Months of preparation, days of shooting from sun up until midnight, driving all over Kingston and even out of town, flights to Jamaica on any break I was able to get from work/school all felt worth it in the end.
Thank you to everyone involved who gave their time and effort to help me create Dreamland. I couldn’t have done any of this without you. There’s a lot more to say but I’ll keep it short, nuff love :)
