Caiiro and Pixie L – Thanda
@caiirosa and @pixie_faith are two talented South African artists who came together to create the beautiful song Thanda. Released as part of Caiiro’s second studio album, “AGORA”. They bring together a sound that is afro-tech and love-infused.
Caiiro defines love as “a deep and spiritual connection” with those closest to him. The song’s creation began with a beat, and without any direction, Pixie L, the songwriter naturally gravitated toward love as the theme. Over time, the song’s meaning evolved—originally about a woman escaping an abusive relationship, it now carries different interpretations, from a simple love song to a spiritual experience.
Pixie L says that: “Everyone will have their own perception of the song. For some it’s a love song, for others it’s more spiritual than that”. Some touching lyrics found in the song are: “Ngathi sengituol’ ikhaya lami. Thanda wena, Thanda wena. Ngizothandela wena”.
