Just had the most beautiful day! I finished painting the mural on the Kwikfit shutter and then we had a little celebration! All of the animals on here were winners of our competition to raise money for @macmillancancer and the owners came along to see it finished. We raised £1420 and made 5 animals famous along the way.. L- R Bella the moggy cat Frankie the whippet Barney the chocolate labrador Iggy Pup the long haired daschund Pebbles the akita (R.I.P) One of the winners was miraculously already famous and his name is @barnixcx . Entered by his amazing dog walker Maria, I was so happy to see him win - please give him a high five if you ever swing by the garage! Thankyou so much to his lovely owners @mackie_bella & @greg_james For popping down to see the finished painting! I am so excited that our charity mural for @macmillancancer got into the paper this week! I just made this piece of art ~ 🪷 A Sri Yantra is a Meditation Tool: Meditating on the Sri Yantra is believed to enhance awareness, create a protective aura, and aid in achieving inner peace and clarity. 🪷 Sri Yantra Structure 9 Triangles: 4 Shiva (upward) and 5 Shakti (downward) triangles. Concentric Circles: Represent the three levels of existence (physical, mental, spiritual). Lotus Petals: Represent the surrounding energy fields. 🪷 I made it with spraypaints, acrylics, airbrush and inks, and a lot of masking tape! Anyone want one? I was really moved by the story of Punch the Monkey this week, it really hit home for me- these days we are being told that art is an "extra", a "hobby" - even that artists will be replaced by A.I. This year I've decided to choose my art over and over again, regardless of who likes it or how much worse it looks compared to this person or that person, or even that robot who made it in 2 seconds for no money. Just like Punch hanging onto his manky old teddy, I'm hanging onto my art, coz it matters, for no other reason than it makes me feel free and it reminds me that I am alive, I am human and I am flawed.
