The Vancouver English Bay Drone Show Experience, created for one of Canada’s largest public celebrations, was experienced by an estimated 1.2 million people across three nights.
With a launch site located almost a kilometre from the primary audience viewing area along English Bay, the team turned a technical constraint into part of the storytelling, designing the aerial approach to build anticipation before the full visual program revealed itself overhead.
The 11-minute performance combined narrative design, custom audio, and precision choreography, featuring tributes to The Tragically Hip, Celine Dion, Terry Fox, the Canadarm, wildlife imagery, and First Nations, inspired visuals, before transitioning seamlessly into the fireworks finale.
A complex production executed safely over open water using an expanded wireless relay network engineered specifically for the environment.
This project was nominated for a Canadian Event Award.
