Suraj Tal (or Surajtal) is the primary high-altitude lake situated above Chandra Taal, located roughly 30 km away. Sitting at 4,890 meters (16,043 feet), it is the third-highest lake in India and acts as the source of the Bhaga River, which joins the Chandra River to form the Chandrabhaga River.
Monastery is a famous Tibetan monastery located in the Himachal Pradesh district of Lahaul and Spiti, at an altitude of 4.166 meters above sea level. Set on a picturesque hilltop, this magnificent monastery is very close to the Spiti River, in Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti Valley. It is hard to believe, but this magnificent monastery is at least one thousand years old and is Spiti Valley’s largest monastery. It was established in the 11th century, and it still houses old Buddhist scrolls and paintings. A large number of Buddhist monks, nuns, and lamas stay here to pursue their religious education in this religious training centre.
