Suraj Tal (or Surajtal) is the primary high-altitude lake situated above Chandra Taal, located roughly 30 km away. Sitting at 4,890 meters (16,043 feet), it is the third-highest lake in India and acts as the source of the Bhaga River, which joins the Chandra River to form the Chandrabhaga River.
Monastery is a famous Tibetan monastery located in the Himachal Pradesh district of Lahaul and Spiti, at an altitude of 4.166 meters above sea level. A large number of Buddhist monks, nuns, and lamas stay here to pursue their religious education in this religious training centre.
