In our industry, training tools are essential. But waste doesn’t have to be. That’s exactly why we’ve been rethinking the mannequin for decades.
In 1976, our founder Leo Passage invented the Slip-On mannequin, a foamless alternative that challenged traditional training heads.
In 2005, we introduced the first iteration of our Cap Series (formerly Snap Cap)—the first mannequin with a reusable, recyclable ABS plastic headform. Since then, we’ve continued refining the design, moving closer each year to a more responsible solution.
In 2024, we reached a milestone: for the first time in our company’s history, we produced more foamless mannequins than foam-filled.
Our evergreen goal? 100% foam-free at Pivot Point International.

One thing I’ll always take pride in is making sure our future professionals leave feeling confident working with ALL hair textures, ALL curl patterns, and ALL people.
The beauty industry is evolving. Our communities are evolving. Families, identities, backgrounds, and hair textures are more beautifully diverse than ever before — and our education has to evolve with it.
So many states still don’t require textured hair education in schools, which honestly blows my mind. That’s why I’m incredibly proud to be part of a school that chooses to teach it anyway. Because textured hair is not a trend, niche, or specialty service. It’s real guests. Real people. Real confidence.
Watching these students step outside of fear and into understanding, technique, and artistry has been one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. The next generation is capable of so much when we actually give them the tools. ✨
