Favourite books of 2025 💫
🔸Rejection - DEEPLY uncomfortable in the best way. gut-wrenching, fascinating, nauseating stuff - hard to read, hard to look away. definitely not for everyone, but if you’re looking for a memorable reading experience, here you go. my number 1
🔸Open Heaven - oh my god I will read whatever Seán Hewitt writes for the rest of my life. this is yearning with a side dish of yearning upon more yearning. moving and devastating and joyous and made me feel like a hopeless, besotted teenager again. I don’t know many things but I know Seán will never fail me
🔸Green Dot - I’m convinced Madeleine Gray is one of the funniest people alive
🔸Brutes - listened to Ethel Cain while reading this, as was recommended, and how life changing it was!!
🔸Persuasion - this is my mum’s favourite Austen and now I understand why. God I loved these characters. Anne is my wife
🔸There Lives a Young Girl in Me that Will Not Die - my first Ditlevsen and wow let me tell you!! it will not be my last!!! (also managed to avoid smearing gravy or something on this beautiful cover. applause)
🔸Good Material - Dolly forever that’s all
🔸The River Has Roots - a dreamlike fairytale about sisters, love, music and getting lost in whimsical lands, so all the best stuff. audiobook is exquisite
🔸Notes on an Execution - rarely read books like this and I was absolutely transfixed and transported. unputdownable indeed
If you’re still reading somehow, happy new year ✨ may good books and good things find you x
2025!!! 💖 the year I was lucky enough to go to a new favourite place (Japan) and an old favourite place (Glastonbury), and got to spend time with all my favourite people. grateful to be able to do it all, grateful for all the angels in my life and being able to call them my friends and family. here’s to another 🫡 a merry 2026 to you all x
Illustrated map for new book;
A Cinnamon Falls Mystery by R.L Killmore.
A murder mystery, in the fall, set in a cosy small town.
I loved using my dip pen to draw the cute businesses and buildings.

What a transformation of a corner window to showcase the book cover for The Sleepwalkers by Scarlett Thomas. I was honoured to be asked to come and paint this for them.. and for HELLO WATERSTONES. Eeeeeek! 🥳

favourite books of 2024 ✨
absolute corkers were read this year, yes they were 🙂↕️ that middle row (Monsters, Penance, Small Worlds) particularly stole my heart, but very grateful to these authors and all authors for helping us to escape with their stories
2024 🤍 lots of: music, silliness, dancing, mawwiage and trundling around Thailand to top it off. I am surrounded by kind and groovy people and I feel lucky everyday, here’s to another year of joy 🙂↕️ and thanks to my pal Ger for the first photo, probably my favourite piccy of the year!
