Not sure if I’ll ever get over having my work hung on the walls of the
@nationalportraitgallery for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2025; but not any image, an image of my community, of trans joy, of trans freedom, of trans radiance.
Especially in a world that right now is such a hell-ish place to be. Yes, there’s of course there is a lot of rage, sadness and complete unjust happening and we have to fight for our existence every day.
But to have an image of
@dannisp00ner in a state of freedom, even for a moment, on that wall, for everyone to see, whilst also sharing that same wall, 10 images away with an image of Kier Starmer, someone who is pushing trans people out of society every day. Is a real act of defiance. The biggest act of resilience is to live and to live full, to live proud, to live free.
