After two full days of presentations, discussions, and a rich exhibition of incredible work, the “[Wild]fires: Eruptions of Over Exploitation” has wrapped. We are so grateful for all the contributors, guests, and attendees who joined us for these critical discussions around wildfires, land, policy, climate change, and rigorous methodologies of research. Through this exhibition/roundtable/networking event we were able to have a glimpse at the forthcoming JoLA special issue on wildfires, and we are eager to see it in its physical form later this year.
We are grateful for those who supported this project and enabled us to host these important conversations. This event is just the beginning of a much larger discussion that we hope to continue with all those present, and with other researchers/individuals/practitioners/professors/organizations who share a care and interest in the subject matter. Thank you to the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS), to the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA)
@esala_edinburgh , to Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism (ASAU)
@carleton_architecture , Archifringe Edinburgh
@archifringe , the Pau Costa Foundation
@paucostafoundation , and of course the Journal of Landscape Architecture (JoLA) and its editorial and production team. And thank you to everyone who supported this work of the individual authors themselves. We are also grateful to the ECA technicians and support staff who helped coordinate. Be sure to check out the great work by the JoLA authors when the issue is published in the coming months. We hope this exhibition will have the opportunity to be shared and exhibited in new contexts in the coming year. Stay posted for more details of where it will be next.
I am grateful to have collaborated with Dr. Lisa Moffitt
