True story. Imagine half of your face just hanging down on one side and not being able to drink except with a straw. Not just for weeks, but for months. By the way, this happened when I was 18 and traveling the world, then stating college and barely being able to say my own name because my lips couldn’t close to make the ‘p’ sound. In case you’re still wondering, Pipaluk is my real name and it’s hard to say when only half of your facial muscles work.
Weird twist: I thought I was definitely not pretty BEFORE this happened and it was exactly this facial paralysis that taught me about beauty. I was forced to change the way I look at myself, because reality felt unbearable.
With each becoming of the World Tree. With each ritual in city parks and dark forests. With each spell cast, runes drawn, cards on the table, aspecting of deity, dancing with star dust, and opening up into ‘god consciousness’ I became something else. To myself.
Most of all I started to trust what I know, not with just my mind but with all my parts. This includes the mind and is not limited to it! And it gives a fuck all what society thinks! Most of the time.

Life is changing and it feels good.
The liminal is a challenging space to be in, and it is also of great potential. We can embrace it, feel the change as it is happening and dive into it like into and unknown sea. Then, when we surface again, gasping for air at the shores of paradise beach, we realize by diving in we let go enough for ourselves to be changes as well, thereby becoming more ready for what is next.

Starting a business is tough. Keeping it going is perhaps even harder. As a woman who has many visions, endless ideas, and is excited by all of them, focusing on one thing is one of the hardest things for me to do. So we are now working on just one thing. I’ve been told it’s called a hero offer. It’ll be different from what you’re used to seeing here, but the inside will be more of what you already know of me: magical!
As I work on this new idea, I need to let go of some old ways of being. I’m wondering if I should start a ‘Shiny New Things Journal’ where I write all my new ideas, my pivots and plot twists, my plans and aspirations. A little tome that contains all that is precious to me until the time is ripe so I can focus in the meantime.
Do you have any recommendations for someone who has a hard time focusing on one thing?

There is this dance in my head and when I partake things become more complex than they need to be. Offerings, the act of giving to spirit, to earth, to deity, to mystery, to life, to creation, has been such a thing as of late. It is easier when I’m not in the city, when my practice is not confined to brick, cement and stone. When I’m on the land I can place my gifts upon it and feel how all makes sense. I can see how the gifts are received, I can sense the response of life around me. In the city the question is always, how do I get rid of an offering once it has been received? A small piece of dry apple is easy to throw out of the window, hurting nobody, landing on sand or in water, or upon bricks, being blown by the wind.

Are you struggling right now? I know I am. For weeks I have felt myself down in the low, questioning everything, wondering what the point of it all is. These moments come to all who dare to express themselves creatively, who allow what is in their heart to pour out into the world, knowing that it lives in the places where it touches the lives of other people. And yet… sometimes a pit of despair opens up that even the best of lives cannot offer a remedy for. We might sit in the silent gaze of the arctic wolf spirit, we might cast a spell that anoints a candle with our tears, we might do it all and still struggle until we throw our hands up to the sky, perhaps to connect to the divine or to surrender fully as we give up our struggle. Funny how to posture of exalting the divine and giving up look the same.
