introducing the newest addition to our system.. 2 Cubo Extended 18s!
i've been wanting to build some of my own loudspeakers for years now.. and i figured a couple folded horn 18" subs that barely fit in my honda would be a proper start, especially as our system desperately needed more throw on the low end.
threw these together over the last month using some basic woodworking tools & a whole bunch of love :)
huge shoutout to the originator of the cubo design for still answering forum questions about the box to this day, 15+ years after it was designed.
eventually i'd like to explore larger boxes, but as a project to get my foot in the door these proved to be an excellent challenge, while still reaping the benefits of a horn design. (2 boxes gain +6db @ 40hz compared to the same driver in a bass reflex box)
loaded with FaitalPro 18FH500s, these absolutely toss air around! the pure slam in the 65hz range consistently gets me smiling, while still having some amazing extension into the low 30s.
have some huge plans for these coming soon! deployed them at our afters in alabama last weekend for tipper, testing has proven to be fruitful. stay tuned.

stoked to present our final throwdown for ping acoustics - into the pit 2. gettin the squad together one last time where this all started a couple years ago, and we're planning a fat one.
just like the original into the pit, we're transforming the first floor into a proper dancefloor. this time around however, the sound will be our absolute best yet. armed with our newly upgraded rig, the pit doesnt know whats about to hit it.
