This logo represents the Club’s original identity prior to its purchase by the members in 1980. It also reflects our connection to the land and honours the Indigenous communities whose history and stewardship of this area long precede the Club. We’re proud to bring this historic emblem back to life.

Chapter 7: Present Day at Pinebrook
Pinebrook today is recognized as one of the premier private golf clubs in Calgary. The membership continues to invest in facility and on-course renovations to maintain its reputation of excellence. The junior golf program has a continued track record of success and is producing some of the top players in the province. Pinebrook embraces innovative ideas and has the Club on track for a future filled with unparalleled experiences and endless opportunities for its membership.

Chapter 6: Pinebrook Golf & Country Club
The Pinebrook Golf & Winter Club was owned and operated by Wilbur Griffith until January of 1980. With that, the club transitioned from a single owner to a member-owned and operated club, one of the first full equity share clubs in Canada. With the new management, a new name followed; the course was now called Pinebrook Golf and Country Club.

Chapter 5: The Sale
Under new ownership in 1972, Wilbur Griffith, remembering Major May’s dreams for the course, decided to completely rebuild it. He hired a golf course architect in 1973, and the course was completed in the Spring of 1975. Clayton Robb was the first staff member, hired as the Head Golf Professional, at the newly named Pinebrook Golf and Winter Club.

Chapter 4: The Passing of Major May
Major May passed away in 1965 without ever having built the golf course of his dreams. He left the property to his two nephews, who had little interest in the property and the course gradually became badly run down. The nephews decided to sell the property in 1972 to Wilbur Griffith.
