Hi there! I’m trying to show up here a little more this year, and the new year feels like the right time to start. I don’t usually love the whole “new year, new me” thing, but something really does feel different lately. Pine Interiors is still a relatively young business, but this year feels like one of maturity and clarity. In the four years since I started Pine, I’ve gotten married, had two babies, moved from a home office into my own workspace, and had the chance to work with incredibly talented contractors and truly special clients. I feel really lucky. What’s shifted most though is realizing that my business can (and should) better reflect who I am, where I am in life, and what I value. Running a growing firm while raising two toddlers is wild, but it’s taught me that balance matters. Those little feet stomping through our home belong to the people who are my whole world. I want that same sense of care to show up in the spaces I create for my clients. For me, 2026 is a year of intention, and making sure Pine really incorporates that. As I move forward, I want my work to feel more holistic and more human. I want to think beyond how a space photographs and focus more on how it’s lived in day after day—how it supports the health and wellbeing of the people inside it, how it ages, and how it continues to feel good over time. My hope is to create homes that feel grounded and personal, made with care, and built to be loved for a long time. photo 1: @vladradion photo 2: @ashleydugovichstudio

Highlights from LA. It was a much needed pause from the day to day to gather inspiration, source for projects, hear from leaders in the industry, and catch some ☀️. Thank you @design.losangeles for hosting such an incredible event!

Some behind the scenes of a busy month! 1 – Delivered a beautiful rug and some chairs to a wonderful client @augustofinerugs 2 – Talked through a custom stair rail design. 3 – Tested out an appliance garage (disguised as 2 drawers, sneaky sneaky) 4 – Inventoried a clients amazing art collection. 5 – Looked at a gazillion paint colors. 6 – Worked with our installer to hem some roman shades that were a hair too long, shucks. 7 – Site meeting at a new construction project in the works.

Before + “close enough” afters This quaint log cabin—used as a hosting lodge for a long-standing agricultural firm—came with a unique challenge I was excited to take on: transform the space for flexible hosting, preserve the original character, and weave in company branding without losing the lived-in, cabin feel. The catch was that the budget really only afforded us enough for new furniture, even though the finishes throughout were quite dated. I honestly normally don’t take on projects where finishes can’t also be addressed, but I could see the charm that would shine through in this one. I’ve hesitated sharing these photos because they don’t feel fully finished. The windows were meant to be layered with custom burlap-style drapery, but a last-minute mishap (they were mistaken for drop cloths during painting 🫠) left us with no drapery for the project’s final photos. With the project out of state and the photographer already scheduled, the show went on and this is what we ended up with. Looking back, I still love how this space came together. I guess it’s a reminder that design isn’t about perfection—it’s about problem-solving, adaptability, and finding beauty even when plans shift. 📸 @kkohlphoto

*This is a rendering* aside from some tile and lighting swaps, it's pretty darn close to the final design of the primary bathroom in an upcoming project. Stay tuned for more updates!
