I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close one year and open the next. Packed until the very end. People dancing. High energy. Exactly what I’d hoped for.
Somehow it felt like coming full circle. My very first gig ever was here, same venue, opening for Herrie met Gerrie back in 2018. Back then I played cheesy tech house, very different from what came out of the speakers this time.
This was also my first proper gig since I left in October 2022 to travel the world and (temporarily) step away from music. More than three years since I last stood behind the decks.
I had almost forgotten what it feels like to play for a room full of people who are just as hyped about the music as you are. Two hours of goosebumps. I enjoyed every second of it.
For the past 1.5 years I’ve been fully committed to building a musical career: quitting my job, learning to produce, diving deep into hardware, and putting in the hours. Mostly alone, first in my attic room and later in the studio. However, I couldn’t have come this far without the guidance of my mentors,

@jancen_music . Grateful for everything you’ve taught me.
Sometimes you lose sight of why you’re doing all this in the first place. But this evening; the people, the raw energy, the enthusiasm, that sense of togetherness, has given it all back to me. It’s reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
