As the solstice arrives this weekend, I hope you be who you need & allow yourself rest and warmth, even when the world asks otherwise. May this season of darkness & stillness give you what you need. ᨒ Where my soul takes root ᨒ Datura, Yucca, Sage & Painted Deserts I haven’t been drawing much these past few months. Instead, I’ve been wandering through the mountains, desert and public lands that surround me. Spending time with the plants & beings that call this place home. Their quiet presence has been deeply healing & refreshing for my overwhelmed, overstressed, busy mind. I’m deeply grateful for the lessons they continue to offer. This piece is something I’ve been working on, on and off, for a while now. It reminds me of my older work, familiar in a comforting way. When I feel stuck I like to return to past ways of creating and see what happens. I am considering offering prints of this planty owl friend :) #folkart #folkartist #owlart #witchyvibe #witchyaesthetic #witchyartist #desertdweller #desertmagic #witchylife #witchythings #natureillustrationart #owllover #southwestart #southwestartist

A little collage of favorite pieces and projects from last year that I’ve been looking back through while cleaning out my photos. A big mix of desert wildlife and plants, experimental drawing, fabric dyeing, printmaking, illustration, and all sorts of fun things. I made a lot more time for traditional art last year, and I hope to continue to do so this year. I think a lot about how lucky I am to live somewhere that feels endlessly inspiring. I genuinely don’t know what kind of artwork I’d be making now if I hadn’t moved out to the Southwest. So much of my work has become shaped by so much time in the remote backcountry, desert landscapes, wildlife, seasonal changes, and all the critters that exist out here.

Been busy working on a tiny batch of new things lately 🌞🌵🐺 I’ve got a brand new desert camp cup with a singing coyote and blooming cactus under the moon. A bandana featuring coyotes, cactus, and roadrunners, plus a few new prints mixed in too. I’ve been really extra into cacti and flowers this year, so it’s been fun to put together a little collection of desert plant pieces. 🖤 #natureillustration #desertart

Throwing it back to this celestial little humpback chub cutout✨🐟 These funky native fish have completely stolen my heart, they’re easily my favorite fish to draw, I love their stupid little faces 👀. I really want to get back into making wooden critters, I just need the time and space to do it. #nativefish #coloradoriver #riverfish #fishart

Spring in the desert is easily one of my favorite times of year! After months of dry & crunchy landscapes, everything starts waking up again, flowers bloom, wildlife comes back out, and the whole desert feels really alive. Some of my favorites don’t grow where I live, so it’s the perfect excuse to travel and explore new places. (I tried really hard to get an ocotillo to grow in Moab and it died) It’s also been a while since I designed a bandana for myself. Most of the bandanas I make are commissions, so creating one just for fun felt really good. I love designing them because the whole process feels like a big ol’ puzzle! It’s a lot of moving pieces around, balancing shapes and colors, and figuring out how everything fits together into something wearable and cohesive. This bandana doesn’t have a name yet, if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. #wildflowers #desertwildlife #bandanadesign #folkartist #natureillustration

Our NEW MERCH DROP is live now! We are so excited to finally bring back Moose Aren’t Real, this might be our new favorite design yet, @pine.bones absolutely crushed this one! Also, all proceeds from the “I Am a National Park” tee shirts will be donated directly to the National Park Trust @nationalparktrust The shirts are super cute and a great way to support their work protecting parks, creating community, and getting kids outdoors. 🫎

All my friends are flowers 🌼 a little flowery raven friend I’ve been think about the ways plants connect us. When I first moved to the Southwest, I felt completely out of my element. I had spent so much of my life learning the plants and landscapes where I grew up, so arriving somewhere new and realizing I knew almost nothing about the environment was truly humbling. Almost every plant or flower I now know was taught to me by someone else, usually while out on a hike. I love stopping on the trail, asking questions, and seeing if anyone knows the answer. Some of my favorite backcountry memories are of friends huddled around wildflowers, our faces buried in petals smelling each and every one , flipping through field guides, trying to learn about who we were looking at. these memories make me love the flowers even more. #nativeflowers #nativeflora #folkartist #natureillustration

A little humpback chub for @bikeraft 2026 artist series. I’m always looking for an excuse to draw one of my favorite endangered fish. Humpback chubs are uniquely shaped and specially adapted for the fast flowing, turbulent rapids of canyon rivers. They’re found only in the Colorado River Basin, which makes them feel even more special to me, I was lucky enough to see some HUGE ones when I was rafting the Grand Canyon, I had no idea they could get so big I’m Always grateful for projects that let me celebrate our native species #humpbackchub #coloradoriver #desertwildlife #riverrafting

A bobcat & a hare. I’ve been feeling really creatively Stuck for awhile now. I’ve been working non-stop on commissions since last fall, which is making me feel a bit stagnant since I dont get to play around nearly as much. It felt so good to just sit down and draw without worrying about the colors or what I was making :)

Peregrine falcon 🪶for @friendsofindiancreek Huge thank you to @onechicktravels for reaching out about this collaboration 🖤🏜️ Indian Creek is a place that means so much to so many. Its world class crack climbing set in a truly stunning desert landscape draws people here from all over. But it’s also a living, breathing ecosystem, its home to countless plants & wildlife. People seem to forget this, too often human impact shows up in the form of going off trail, leaving trash behind, or disregarding seasonal wildlife closures. If we love these places, we have to care for and respect them. Recreating responsibly means recognizing that we are visitors here. Stewardship isn’t optional if we want these places to last.

Crying Desert Orecle for an upcoming collaborative show at @collectedcon I won’t lie, the imposter syndrome hit really hard with this one. I’ve never really painted a mini figure before, and it felt so far outside my wheelhouse. I ended up having what I thought was a catastrophic failure when I went to prime this little dude, the for an unknown reason the primer dried super textured and bumpy 💀 It was not at all what I had planned, I sat on my garage floor crying convinced that I had ruined the whole piece, I was so excited to be in this show and I had blown my chance at it…… 🙃😭 As I was holding it in my hands, I realized that the text felt like sandstone or fired ceramic, It was almost like it was always meant to be that way. It became one of those trust the process moments that doesn’t feel good at all until you’re on the other side of it. I was stressed the entire time, I cried a lot, but I’m so grateful I stuck with it. This piece turned into something completely different than I imagined, and honestly, I love it more because of that. Thank you @faunwood for trusting me with one of your oracle blanks 🖤 I can’t wait to see what everyone’s looks like.
