Let’s talk about Roll Over 🌀⁠ ⁠ An Intermediate exercise that requires a good understanding of the Pilates connections, strength, and control. ⁠ ⁠ Like the Roll Up it teaches articulation of the spine but in reverse. ⁠ ⁠ It targets:⁠ • The abdominals, glutes, and back muscles⁠ ⁠ It requires:⁠ • Strength ⁠ • Stability⁠ • Control ⁠ ⁠ Top Tip: 💡⁠ Avoid loading the cervical spine by keeping the weight in in the shoulders and lifting from your centre...do not use momentum!!⁠ ⁠ When done correctly you will feel the articulation of the spine, in control of the movement, and length through the back body. ⁠ ⁠ 👇 Have you tried this in class before? Exercise Focus: One Leg Circles 🌀⁠ The purpose of the exercise is hip mobility challenging the stability of the pelvis/body whilst stretching, lengthening the legs.⁠ ⁠ On the Mat: ⁠ No assistance or support - just you! ⁠ The focus is more on what is not moving rather than what is. ⁠ ⁠ On the Tower with Leg Springs⁠ The springs add resistance and guidance giving you feedback. Stability and control are challenged.⁠ ⁠ On the Spine Corrector⁠ The arc of the barrel supports the pelvis and opens the front of the hips. It teaches the leg to move freely while the pelvis stays supported.
