Letâs talk about Roll Over đâ

An Intermediate exercise that requires a good understanding of the Pilates connections, strength, and control. â
â
Like the Roll Up it teaches articulation of the spine but in reverse. â
â
It targets:â ⢠The abdominals, glutes, and back musclesâ
â
It requires:â ⢠Strength â ⢠Stabilityâ ⢠Control â
â
Top Tip: đĄâ
Avoid loading the cervical spine by keeping the weight in in the shoulders and lifting from your centre...do not use momentum!!â

When done correctly you will feel the articulation of the spine, in control of the movement, and length through the back body. â

Exercise Focus: One Leg Circles đâ
The purpose of the exercise is hip mobility challenging the stability of the pelvis/body whilst stretching, lengthening the legs.â
â
On the Mat: â
No assistance or support - just you! â
The focus is more on what is not moving rather than what is. â
â
On the Tower with Leg Springsâ
The springs add resistance and guidance giving you feedback. Stability and control are challenged.â
â
On the Spine Correctorâ
The arc of the barrel supports the pelvis and opens the front of the hips. It teaches the leg to move freely while the pelvis stays supported. This version can useful if the mat version feels restricted due to tightness or stiffness.â
