client requested a horizontal alignment between the two, and it ended up tying everything together in a way that feels intentional but still easy
i love designing ears, but it’s even better when it’s a collaboration
tragus and stacked lobes are a solid pairing.
one gives structure, the other adds softness.
the tragus is cartilage, so expect a slower heal, but it’s a solid choice if you want something subtle but distinct.
stacked lobes keep things classic with a bit of depth.

we started building out her ear with two new lobe piercings to shape the lower line, keeping space to fill the two existing (but empty) piercings above once these settle. also added a flat for some balance up top.
she recently had a conch done elsewhere, so i held off on doing too much. the post didn’t have much room for swelling, and personally, i cap active piercings at 4–5 per ear. it’s a good way to keep the healing smooth and the ear happy.
slow builds always pay off.
why we don’t pierce with outside jewelry:
– it needs to be sterile.
your favorite earring that’s been living at the bottom of a dish isn’t gonna cut it.
– the material matters.
we only use astm f136 titanium or solid 14k gold—anything else risks irritation or slowed healing.
– butterfly backs? hard no.
we size jewelry based on your anatomy, and most outside pieces just aren’t made for safe insertion.
not about being picky—just trying to set you up for something that actually heals.
