Frame Art & Design Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Frame Art & Design proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of custom picture framing excellence since opening its doors in August 1995.
Over the years, Frame Art & Design has expanded its services beyond custom framing to include fine art printing and scanning, art installation, corporate art specification, and artist collaboration. The business continues to thrive under the leadership of mother-daughter team Marta Pequignot and Kate Sorgenfrei, whose expertise spans multiple generations of artistic tradition.
"I've been part of this business all my life," said Sorgenfrei, Owner and Lead Designer, who joined Frame Art & Design at the age of 14 and recently purchased the business from her mother. "I was immersed in the craft from a very young age when my mom started picture framing in our childhood home. The women in my family have dedicated themselves to the study of art and design, and I'm proud to carry on this legacy."
Frame Art & Design's reputation for quality is backed by its team of three Certified Picture Framers® (CPF®), a certification by the Professional Picture Framers Association that reflects extensive knowledge and expertise in custom picture framing.
Pequignot, CPF®, brings over four decades of framing expertise to the business. A graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Marta represents the third generation of formally trained female artists in her family.
Over the years, Frame Art & Design has handled an impressive array of projects, from family photographs to pieces from pop culture icons, such as clothing worn by Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse, and historically significant pieces, including a rare reward poster for Abraham Lincoln's assassin.
"Each day brings new challenges, and our team loves the diversity of projects that we have the opportunity to frame," said Sorgenfrei. "Whether it's framing a family photo, selecting art and finishes for a corporate environment, or partnering with an artist to create an innovative presentation for an exhibit, we find joy in the diversity of each project."
