Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been an extraordinary 3 years since I quit my 9-5 and became independent, and I’m blessed and grateful to say I have been growing in ways I couldn’t have imagined ever since. I’ve traveled the world both privately and with my clients, and I’m building trust and confidence in my abilities to take on bigger projects where I can shine.
Recently I’m settling into my core strength—creativity. “Settling” may not sound apt to describe creativity, but to me it is, since I used to limit myself to conform to a mold, to be more palatable. Now I’m more comfortable going crazy with my imagination, and I feel that has attracted more client work that calls for it. And I’m so here for it!
Here’s to another 3, 5, 10 years of unlimited growth and creating. Let’s goooooo🔥
楽しい時間はあっという間っちゅうもんで。9時5時の仕事を辞めて独立してから早3年、当時は思いもよらなかった方向へ成長を遂げられてることは、本当に日頃気にかけていただく皆さんのお陰です。プライベートでも、クライアントさまの海外同行でも、国内外色んなところに旅させてもらい、自分の能力への自信と信頼を築きながら、どんどん自分が輝けるプロジェクトに携わらせてもらってます。心から感謝してます。
最近は、自分の一番の強み：独創性、に落ち着いてきています。独創性なのに「落ち着く」は適語ではないじゃないかと思われるかもしれませんが、自分は今まで型にはまらねば、差し障りない感じにならなければ、と思って抑え込んでいたタチなので、本来の自分に戻っていくという意味でしっくりきています。今は妄想が暴走するのも怖くないからか、クライアント案件でも創造力を存分に発揮していいものを惹きつけているような気がします。もっともっとやりたい！
これからの3年、5年、10年も、無限に成長と創造を続けるぞー！めらめら🔥これからもよろしくお願いいたします😊

先日、無事40歳になりました❤️🔥
人間は1人では何もできないというけれど、本当に本当に愛をくれる家族や友人、仕事仲間のお陰でここまで生きてこれたと心から想います。本当に本当にまじでありがとう。色んな時期に色んな悩みや超える壁があったけど、たくさん遠回りして一番自分らしい自分に戻ってこれたのが何よりの経験でした。これからの10年も、20年も、100歳オーバーするまできっと学び続けることは尽きない。だからこそ、今まで私を生かしてくれた負けん気とやる気、好奇心と探究心、情と論を大事に、ズシズシ大股で旅を続けていきたいです。
40代の最初のチャレンジは、これまで趣味と言い張り続けていた度を超えた料理を仕事にすること。今までちゃんとやってこなかった英語での文章力を高めること。周りにやりすぎと言われていた自分のベースラインを受け入れて、遠慮せずに突き抜けていくこと。これを形にしたくて、英語でのレシピブログを始めました。写真だけでもよければ、 @house.of.savvege を是非フォローして今後の活動を見守ってください💗

I'm happy to announce that I safely made it to 40 a couple weeks ago️❤️🔥
True to the notion that no one achieves anything alone, I wholeheartedly believe that I made it to this day because of all the love from my family, friends, and professional peers, so thank you thank you thank you for all that you do for me. I've had to overcome a multitude of walls and things that were eating me up, but otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the full experience of making a whole lot of detours along way and coming back home to my unadulterated purest self. I'm sure in the next decade, and the next, and up til I'm a centenarian, life will throw things at me so I can keep learning. That's why I shall stomp in strides, always upholding my eagerness and curiosity, relentless and inquisitive spirit, and compassion and logic that kept me alive to this day.
My first challenge of this new decade is to make my over-the-top cooking—something I've insisted is a "hobby"—a part of my career; to improve my English writing skills—something I hadn't put serious effort into; and to accept my baseline, which I had been told so often is too much, and grow into something exceptional, no shits given. As a starting point, I launched a recipe blog called savvege. It would mean a lot if you could follow me @house.of.savvege and peek the blog at the LIB💗

Mana is one of my favorite people who I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with on stage multiple times, but this one is super special. As a young choreographer, she had the dream of one day leading a dance company and manifesting a night of performance showcasing her one-and-only choreography style and the absolute fierceness of her apprentices. She built her career as an educator of the next generation while meticulously designing the physical expression of sound. I’m always floored by the level of planning and thoughtfulness that goes into choreographing one song with numerous moving pieces, and completely in awe of her talent and dedication. I’m honored to have worked on this piece, Miscendum, my first spoken word track, that serves as a symbolic opening to the entire show, with the amazing pianist @marietakeda . This track is available on all streaming platforms and can be downloaded from iTunes, and we’re excited to see how other dancers interpret these words. Congrats, Mana, on this phenomenal fruit of your hard work. I know there’s more to come and I’m here for it!
マナは何度もステージを共にしている大大大好きな人ですが、今回はまじのまじでスペシャル。若い振付師として、いつかダンスカンパニーを主宰し、その独特なスタイルのコレオや凄まじい弟子たちにスポットライトを当てる単独公演を実現したいという夢があった彼女。次世代の教育に力を注ぎながらも、音の身体的表現を精巧にデザインして経歴を重ねてきました。同時に様々なパーツが複雑に動く振付を一曲作り上げるためにかかる計画と思慮深さに私はいつも度肝を抜かれ、彼女の才能と努力を心から尊敬しています。今回は、私の初のスポークンワードとなるMiscendumを共作させてもらって、ピアノには素晴らしき竹田麻里絵ちゃんを招いて、公演のシンボル的なオープニングに使ってもらったことが本当に光栄です。配信とiTunesダウンロードで既に公開されていますが、他のダンサーがこの言葉達をどう解釈するのか見るのがとても楽しみ。マナ、長年の構想と努力の賜物、超大作お疲れ様でした💗これからもますますの活躍、楽しみにしてるよ！
Congrats @hamashow_works for your tenth year in the game. He’s a good friend of mine who specializes in dance photography, which are meticulously planned out to capture the energy and craft of the dancers. The pieces were printed on canvas—a perfectly apt, complementary material for his picturesque style. I had the honor of translating the welcome panel and creating subtitles for his interview. Check out his works and if you’re in Tokyo, be sure to go to his free solo exhibit in Hikarie Shibuya thru Sep 26.

ハマショー、活動10周年おめでとう。ハマショーは良き友人でもあるダンスフォトグラファー。緻密に構成された写真からは、ダンサーの躍動感や技巧が伝わってきます。印刷の素材をキャンバスにしたのも絵画みたいな作品たちにぴったりだったし、作品がこれで完成されたような感じもしました。今回は光栄にも、ウェルカムボードの英訳と、インタビュー動画の字幕作成をさせていただきました。是非彼の作品を見てみて、東京近郊においでの方は是非、9月26日まで渋谷ヒカリエで開催されている彼の個展にも足を運んでみてください。

Yesterday I went to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the first broadway musical adaptation I had the honor of working for. I contributed as the translator of the original script into Japanese, interpreter in meetings with the *squeal* Mr. @johncameronmitchell himself, and assistant for communication. I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of this production, and man are they killin it. I knew every component through meetings, but still was marveling at how it all looks and feels in the flesh. Hope the rest of the shows will be unaffected by rona. Much appreciation to the staffs and a shout-out to @sayaka_yasukura_vocal_studio , you’re truly the best.

昨日、ヘドウィグアンドアングリーインチの公演を見に行ってきました。実は、光栄にもブロードウェイミュージカルの日本版に初めて携わらせていただきました。じーん。脚本の元となる原作の粗訳、原作者ジョン・キャメロン・ミッチェル氏との打ち合わせ(ひゃはー)での通訳ほか、英語でのコミュニケーションのサポートで入らせてもらいました。この作品の一部として関われた喜びは筆舌に尽くしがたいですが、演者のみなさんはじめ、映像や背景とか、全部打ち合わせで見てるのにやっぱ生で見るとすげーってなりますね。残りの公演も、ローナの影響を受けず無事にできますように。スタッフの皆さんへの感謝と、さやかさんにスペシャルサンクスあなた最高すぎます。
