I have been a writer and researcher since 2015 and I hold myself to a high standard to preserve knowledge and culture from the Philippines. Since then I have put myself into my work, meticulously researching while using that as inspiration for my many stories. It was always my privilege to share my love for the myths of the archipelago with my readers.
There have been certain narratives made that put my integrity in question and I would like to state that they are untrue.
I hope this clears up previous comments about me and especially my published work.
Thank you to all of Philippines Spirits' supporters and readers.
May the spirits guide you.

Five years is a long time to keep showing up for a thing. But that is what happened last Sunday, April 26, when Book Buddies Philippines gathered at Millas Hostel and Cafรฉ to mark the occasion. Not with a program or a ceremony, exactly, but with the kind of easy, unhurried afternoon that made you forget there was anywhere else to be.
The community began the way most good things do: small, a little uncertain, held together mostly by the conviction that other readers were out there and worth finding. What nobody quite expected was 50,000 of them. Over five years, quiet reading sessions spread across Luzon, hobby groups spun off in different directions, and strangers who once had nothing in common but a book bag and a free Saturday slowly became the people you text when something reminds you of a chapter you read together.
Sunday felt like all of that compressed into a single room. Conversations picked up mid-thought, the way they do with people you do not have to explain yourself to. There was laughter, and the particular warmth of being understood without having to try very hard. No one was performing enthusiasm. It was just there.
The honest thing about a group like this is that the books were never really the point. They were the excuse. The thing that gave shy people a reason to walk through a door and sit down next to someone they had never met. What stayed, what is still being built, is something harder to name and more worth keeping.
Five years in, and it still feels like the beginning of something.

Philippine mythology is not just folklore, it is the memory of a people, passed down through generations of storytellers, healers, and believers.
The stories of the spirits of the Philippine Archipelago are filled with tales of blood and wonder. From the child-abducting Kumao of the Ilocanos to the mysterious Dalagmita of the Agusanen Manobo, the Philippines has a diverse and haunting slate of mythical creatures that most of us have never even heard of. Until now.
๐จ๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐บ๐ท, ๐ฒ๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ founder, researcher, and writer of Philippine Spirits, brings these creatures back to life in a talk that will make you look at our history, our land, and our world very differently.
He has spent years diving deep into primary sources about mythical creatures as inspiration for diverse storytelling. This is not a surface-level retelling. This is the real thing.
