🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️Join us as we open the 2026 Philippine Queer Studies Conference with a dialogue that holds space for rigor and tenderness, friction and flow, and the many ways we move together.
“Face-to-Face, Heart-to-Heart: Conversation on Mobilities, Methodologies, and Movements” brings together two voices from different generations of queer work and thought to reflect on protest, care, joy, fatigue, resistance, and repair. Together, they will explore how movements are shaped not only through strategy and critique, but also through relationships, lived experience, and the everyday work of surviving and imagining otherwise.
See you at the 2026 PQSC!

How do LGBTQIA+ couples in the Philippines navigate love, family, property, and healthcare rights in a legal system that still does not formally recognize same-sex partnerships?
Join “Rights of LGBTQIA+ Couples in the Philippine Legal Framework: Book Launch and Legal Toolkit Distribution,” one of the featured events of the 2026 Philippine Queer Studies Conference. 📚⚖️
Hosted by the UP College of Law Gender Law and Policy Program, this session marks the launch of a new monograph and companion legal toolkit designed to help LGBTQIA+ couples better understand and secure rights related to property, healthcare, and family matters.
The program will also bring together legal experts, academics, and community members for an important conversation on legal gaps, the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ families, and the ongoing struggle for equality and reform.
See you on 25 April 2026, 4:30–6:00 PM, at the Auditorium of the UP School of Statistics.
What does it mean to care for movements, and for the people sustaining them?
📣 PQSC 2026 is proud to feature “Caring for Advocates: An Experiential Expressive Arts Session,” facilitated by the Ateneo De Manila University Gender Hub.
The Ateneo Gender Hub will use movement, visual arts, and music to create a space for rest, reflection, creativity, and connection among advocates. No artistic background is needed — only your presence and openness.
Because sustaining movements also means sustaining the people behind them through rest, reflection, and mutual care. 🌈

📸 CALL FOR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Memories of Movements | PQSC 2026 Art Exhibit
This year, the Philippine Queer Studies Conference 2026 opens a new space for remembering.
We invite you to be part of “Memories of Movements,” a community photo-wall exhibit that gathers images of queer life, organizing, survival, and connection across the Philippines.
Movements are often carried by people rather than institutions—held in phones, folders, group chats, and family albums. This exhibit honors those everyday archives and the many ways queer histories are lived, remembered, and shared.
We welcome photographs taken through the years that document queer presence and movement-building—from protests and Pride gatherings to quiet moments of care, friendship, and resistance that rarely enter formal archives.
🗓 Deadline for submission: 31 January 2026
📍 Exhibit at: University of the Philippines Diliman (April 2026)
