Designed in collaboration with and fabricated by @studio.chd , An Open Hand revisits the legacy and imagination of Le Corbusier’s 1950’s modernist vision for Chandigarh. The object and furniture works explore those designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the public buildings of the city nearly 75 years ago - born in utility but having transcended far beyond. Framed in Indian Teak Wood, the works incorporate hand-embroidered photographs (taken by me) on vintage kantha fabrics (sourced by @kartikresearch ) alongside hand-painted graphics found in the city’s Corbusier-designed High Court Building.
