Last night was magical! Playing to a full room of music enthusiasts and listeners is a dream. Always great pleasure to share the stage with my friend and the very talented @jack.whittle.102 .
We were honored to warm up the stage for the amazing @shemekia.copeland and her fantastic band at the beautiful @theacorntheater ! If you have never heard of these artists or have never been to The Acorn Theatre. Please do me a favor and pull your head out of the sand.
GO SEE LIVE ART AND GO SEE LIVE MUSIC!
In this video we are playing an original tune “Bring Me Home to Mama” written both by Jack Whittle and @jamesgedda
Thanks for watching and listening! Enjoy!

Well that was fun!
Back in the middle of January I received a message from Mendell in the “Trippin Billies”. They were in need of a fill in for an upcoming show and were wondering if I was interested. I was and I accepted. I was sent a set list a few days later and I started working. Transcribing violin sections and guitar parts to help fill any void. I listen daily to the playlist, in order to get those songs trapped in my head. Boyd Tinsley(former Violin player for DMB) parts aren’t too hard to learn. My goal was to clean those violin parts up and make them my own.
It was an honor to share the stage with @trippin.billies@mendell73 , @mckillenmusic , Steve, @arsenist2 , @williamkurk are great players and even better people! Shoutout to Steve on sound and all the good folks at @hobchicago that made the night go so smooth.
Side note about this video. This may sound silly to some. But as a musician and artist, I’m constantly trying to remove myself from the current state and take myself to somewhere I feel more comfortable. During this solo I found myself looking out my front door, back in my house in Gary, watching as one of my outdoor street cats returned home after a few days of causing worry by not coming around. The joy I felt when I saw “Whitey Cat” return was the same feeling I’m having during this solo! That’s the magic and healing power of art and this is what I do it for!
Thanks to all my friends who came out to support me and show me love! This means so much to look out and see familiar faces looking back at me with love in your eyes!
Thanks to my girlfriend Melissa for not leaving me during these last few weeks. I know listening to the same DMB tunes over and ever again is not how you wanted to spend most of your days, but you did and I love you for that support!
Thanks for watching or reading!
Much Love!
