As I share this, my heart is heavy. Right now, the people of Iran are fighting for their lives, their freedom, and their future. Their bravery in the face of unimaginable risks is nothing short of heroic.
The Islamic Republic Regime has imposed internet blackout, cutting off communication to hide the violent crackdown on protesters. Reports indicate that live ammunition is being used, and many have been killed including eight children. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and the true scale of the violence remains hidden due to the blackout.
This is not just a critical moment for Iran—it’s a critical moment for all of us to listen, amplify their voices, and stand in solidarity with those risking everything for basic human rights.
Tehran is a fictional story, but it’s rooted in the complexities of the region and its people. I’m proud of the work we’ve done on this show, but today, my thoughts and focus are with the real stories unfolding on the ground in Iran.
