“BORDON… DON’T FORGET YOUR BOX.” 📦😂 This Friday, the gloriously chaotic force of nature that is Patrick Monahan returns — and somehow he already loves Bordon almost as much as he loves absolute nonsense. The man is PURE mayhem in the best possible way. One minute he’s talking flat-pack furniture disasters, the next he’s accidentally running a marathon or narrowly avoiding being scammed… and somewhere in between he’s absolutely dismantling the audience with world-class crowd work. No two shows are ever the same. Also — fair warning — don’t expect him to stick to time. Pat gives you your money’s worth and then some. 😂 Award-winning, endlessly charming, hilariously unpredictable and genuinely one of the loveliest humans in comedy… he’ll probably still be taking selfies with everyone long after the show ends. 🎟️ Tickets are £17 — but Phoenix Friends can grab them for just £12.50 👀 “Terrific comic… His overwhelming warmth makes this a truly delightful show” — The Scotsman

🌈 Before queer visibility had a flag, there was Quentin Crisp ✨ Next Saturday, while Europe celebrates glitter, spectacle and unapologetic self-expression at Eurovision Song Contest 2026, we’re celebrating one of the original icons of queer visibility. 💫 🎭 Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope comes to Phoenix Arts Centre on Saturday 16 May at 7.30pm. Long before it was safe — or legal — to live openly gay in Britain, Quentin Crisp refused to hide who he was. Decades before queer visibility entered the mainstream, he faced ridicule and violence on London’s streets simply for being himself. His story remains funny, moving, defiant and deeply relevant today. 🌈 Mark Farrelly’s hugely acclaimed solo play brings Crisp vividly to life, from his lonely Chelsea flat in the 1960s to the stages of New York as the unforgettable “Englishman in New York.” Expect razor-sharp wit, moving honesty, and a celebration of authenticity that still resonates across generations of LGBTQ+ culture. ✨ 💬 Includes post-show Q&A 🎟 Tickets: £17 / £16 concessions & Friends 📍 Saturday 16 May, 7.30pm 💖 For anyone who loves queer history, camp culture, outsider voices, and stories about living boldly as yourself — this one’s for you. Book via the link in our bio! #QuentinCrisp #NakedHope #QueerHistory 🌈 #LGBTQIA #QueerVisibility #Pride #LiveTheatre #Theatre #SoloShow #EnglishmanInNewYork #PhoenixArts #Leicester #QueerCulture ✨ #BeYourself #CampCulture #WhatsOnLeicester #LGBTQTheatre #ArtsAndCulture #TheatreLovers 🎭

🌧️ Too wet for the park? Too windy for a picnic? Too unpredictable to plan anything outdoors? This Saturday 9 May at 11am, Long Nose Puppets bring their enchanting new show, Flyaway Katie, to The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre. From the makers of Shoe Baby and Arthur’s Dream Boat, this magical puppet adventure is perfect for ages 2–7 — and could even be your child’s very first puppet show ✨ All alone and feeling grey, Katie wishes she could be as bright and colourful as the birds in the picture on her wall… What follows is a joyful, colourful story full of movement, surprises and beautifully crafted puppets. The show lasts 35 minutes, followed by a 15-minute stay-and-play session where children can meet the puppets afterwards. 🎟️ Tickets are just £8, or £28 for a group of 4 — an easy, affordable family activity for a Saturday morning. “Magical and beautiful” — The Guardian
