We enjoyed listening to a fascinating discussion between @watts1874 CEO, Marie-Séverine de Caraman Chimay, and floral artist @gaiaerosflorals , as they explored the meaning and importance of flowers and their enduring appeal throughout the centuries. With flower-filled motifs at the heart of the Watts 1874 archives, the conversation highlighted the connection between design and nature.
Blending past and future, Gaia also shared her sustainable floristry philosophy and introduced Phoam, a compostable alternative to traditional floral foam — an ideal solution for historic venues where water-based flower arrangements are not permitted.

I haven’t used floral foam for maybe nine or ten years because of its toxicity. I have learned other techniques for designing with flowers that are foam free but some venues still don’t allow it. @phoamlabs have come up with a chemical and plastics free foam that I was lucky enough to get my hands on to experiment with. I had some beautiful Welsh blooms from @_the_rowan_tree_ and a little time to play……..
