Graduating in class of Valérie Favre: Josephine Rothäuser
Josephine’s work engages with tensions that unfold through the materiality of canvas and paint.
She investigates the question of the body, whether it appears on the surface or emerges from the canvas itself. Forms fragmentize, constantly negotiating the boundaries they inhabit.
Through process-based, reactive methods, the works undergo reassembly, reflecting a constant negotiation between form, surface, and presence.
