My new album ‘Long Future’ is out today! After 5 years of building a studio, wiring up + learning to use a beautiful old analog console and literally hundreds of demos later, I have had the absolute pleasure of working with some incredibly talented friends and musicians to create my first full length album! The album is a deep, dark, DIY exploration of tones and timbres that you might find resonance with in works such as Orwell’s ‘1984’, or films like ‘Running Man’ and well...real life as if late; congas, timbales, guitars, horns all crossover with the classic 808 drum machine, weird analog synths, and dubbed out analog delays at the recording console for an album that has 2021 written all over it! This song is about finding your way back to that inner voice, that path that is yours and yours only, as the one and only way to be true to yourself.
With everything going on in the world, in particular Ukraine at this very moment, I can only bring myself to share this song with a particular something in my heart…not because it is related to current events in any way but as a reminder that we are all just human beings trying to get through and make the most of our time here and find meaning in our lives. As we appear to be living in a time of increasing division, fear, doubt, remember that our differences can be the most beautiful thing about us.
