The pandemic changed the rent landscape in Philadelphia, and has made housing more unaffordable than ever. Today, rent prices have outpaced income growth, leaving many Philadelphians struggling to pay rent. Our city deserves better. We deserve rent control!

Rent is too damn high!
At our community meeting on rent control this week, we presented the real data on how Philadelphians are increasingly being priced out of their homes, all while the money in their pockets has not increased to keep up.
This means that people in predominantly Black and brown communities are being pushed out of the neighborhoods they call home at an alarming rate.
Want to do something about it? 🔗 Sign up to canvass with us through the link in our bio as we collect essential data to fuel the fight for rent control.

Huge turnout this weekend for canvassing! 🙌
Our canvassers showed up in West Philly to power our community-driven data project focused on exposing housing inequities and strengthening the fight for rent control.
By talking directly with neighbors and collecting survey data, we’re building a people-powered case for stronger tenant protections and real solutions to prevent displacement, especially in communities most impacted.

Today’s housing crisis and federal attacks on fair and affordable housing reveal that access to housing and property ownership is still deeply racialized. This makes it more important than ever to work together toward a vision where, housing is a public good, and everyone – regardless of their race – has affordable and dignified housing.
This Fair Housing Month, Race Forward reminds you that #HousingJusticeIsRacialJustice.

📢 We're looking for people to canvass with us as we fight for rent control in Philly!
We’re implementing a community-driven data project to expose housing inequities, uplift frontline voices, and fuel the fight for rent control.
By canvassing Philadelphia neighborhoods and conducting a community survey, we’re gathering data on housing disparities that disproportionately impact communities of color. We’ll use this data to inform our strategy to push Philadelphia City Council to pass stronger tenant protections and policies that prevent displacement.
