For over one hundred years, Armenian families have been an important part of Philadelphia. In 1976, to say “thank you” to the city that welcomed them, they gave Philadelphia the “Young Meher” statue, a symbol of being free and staying strong.
Now, almost 50 years later, a new generation has worked hard to fix the statue and build a beautiful garden called the Armenian Heritage Walk. This 15,000-square-foot park is a place where everyone can learn about Armenian history and culture.
You can visit the Armenian Heritage Walk at the North Entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Philadelphia Black Pride is one of the nation’s longest-running, and a founding member of the International Federation of Black Prides.
This year’s celebration theme, “In Love We Rise,” is a call for unity and healing, and will include a ceremony honoring local leaders through the Historic 250 Black Changemakers Initiative, part of Philadelphia’s 250th anniversary festivities.
It’s time to IGNITE THE ORANGE 🧡

What does it mean when we say Ring It On 2026? It means when @phlcouncilpresident Kenyatta Johnson and I took office, we promised to bring the Semiquincentennial celebration to every corner of Philadelphia, and we meant it.
From new benches, planters, and neighborhood signs here in Point Breeze, to block parties, festivals, and historic moments across our city, there will be celebrations of every size and every kind. Just like our democracy, there is a place for everyone.
Point Breeze is ready. South Philly is ready. And Philadelphia is ready.
Let’s have a great time, celebrate our story, and show the world what it means to be One Philly, a UNITED CITY. One America, a UNITED NATION.
