Jokes & Bru is a live comedy and cocktail experience hosted by my business partner Oneal and me, co-founders of @Pepper.bru , a Black-owned all-natural energy drink company. Our show takes place at @plantandpeople , a Black-owned mother-daughter plant shop in West Philly, with tickets sold through @blacksoulsummer , a Black-owned ticketing platform.
Each event features four comedians and three cocktail/mocktail rounds between sets, ending with a judged competition where the comedians serve as the judges.
The show intentionally centers Black creativity, comedy, and ownership from talent to venue to platform. We’d love to be part of Black Comedy Week Philadelphia. next shows are 2/21
