Just like the farmer, each blueberry blossom is hard at work behind the scenes this spring 🫐🌸 Once pollinated by busy bees 🐝 the flower blossoms begin to fade, making way for tiny green berries in their place. Day by day, with sunshine, rain, warmer air, and a measure of patience, those little berries slowly grow and ripen into a season of sweetness 💙 Before making their way into your pies, jams, or morning smoothie, every blueberry starts right here — as a promise in bloom 🌸 🫐

On game day, she made sure the uniform was clean and both cleats were in the bag ⚽️ She nursed you back to health when she had the flu too 🥣 She made your sandwich with the middle slices and quietly took the bread ends 🥪 Her smile was brightest on your darkest day 💫 And when you walked down the isle a part of her did too because a mother’s love is always with us ❤️ Flowers have long symbolized love, gratitude, beauty, and care — all the things mothers so freely give. This Mother’s Day, celebrate the moms, grandmothers, and mother figures who helped us grow with something as beautiful as they are 🌼 In celebration of Mother’s Day our farm market offers a large assortment of colorful annuals and hardy perennials — perfect for gifting and planting together 🌺 Thank you to all moms who have encouraged us to bloom wherever life plants us 🌱 Happy Mother’s Day!

Spring arrives softly…one spear at a time 🌱 Asparagus teaches us patience. It takes years to establish, but once it does, it returns faithfully each spring—sometimes growing inches in a single day when conditions are just right. Fresh, tender, and harvested daily, this early-season Phillips Farms favorite is one of the truest signs that warmer days are ahead!

Our farm market doubles as a recipe exchange some days—and we love it! From “you’ve got to try this” to “my grandmother always made it this way,” your ideas keep the inspiration growing right alongside the crops 🌱 In anticipation of all the flavor summer brings we just had to share our newest customer tip: Steep Lemon Verbena in warmed heavy cream. Chill. Whip. Serve a top Phillips Farms grilled peaches 🍑 We sell the ingredients but our customers bring the magic 💫

Springtime has a way of reminding us not to put away our heavy coats and blankets too soon ☀️ ❄️ On the farm, that sunny optimism and chilly reality are why row covers are never out of reach ! 🌱 Last month, visitors to the farm market may have noticed black row covers over the fields. Black covers allow for the sun’s heat to warm the soil for strawberry plantings 🍓 This week a projected drop in temperatures had the farm workers laying white row covers down. In addition to providing frost protection white row covers allow for an even plant growth by diffusing sunlight ☀️ Fun fact: Red row covers allow selective light spectrum through which can enhance growth and flowering in some crops 🍅 Springtime has us all doing a wardrobe shuffle but in due time our patience will soon be rewarded! 🍓 🫐 🍑
